  • Hmmmmm....

Lot's of pictures but not of the engine or underbody? Says it has "a" HiPO motor but never states it has "the" original drivetrain. Could be a nice car but it would a good inspection.

It's expensive, for a car that needs to be restored.

I'm somewhat interested in this car. I have one question. Did all true GT's have a center console?

    Thanks,

    Gary

    No. Separate option.

    Jim

  • That would be great Larry. Thanks very much. I will let you know. I'm taking a long hard look at my available cash situation and trying to decide if I want to invest in another K. The only reason I am hesitating is the current situation of today's economy.

I do believe this car has great potential at the right price.

    Thanks again Larry.

Thats what makes it a buyers market. The add makes it sound like he is desperate for a offer. Might just be a sells pitch though. I had a real hard time in the mid 90's scraping the money together to buy my Shelby. Several people told me I was crazy for paying 32K for it in a down market. Sure glad I didn't listen!

    Larry

  • Larry, I bet you are. I wish I could afford a Shelby but they are just too expensive for me.

I have given this car serious consideration and will have to pass. Too much unknown economy issues plus the fact I already own 2 K mustangs.

Thanks again for your offered help with this.

Guys something you should know, I have spoken to seller, the car does not have a Hi Po K engine block but he only mentioned this quite a way down the road.

  • If this Kar does not have a Hipo block as Mark says, then the seller has very carefully worded his description to disguise that fact. The choke cable is an aftermarket GYPO piece with the correct bracket. That really seems unimportant after you realize that it has the incorrect automatic choke carburetor. The timing cover is a later version. The floor pan replacements could use better finishing as they are far too obvious. The next huge issue to me is that it has a very early C2OA bellhousing which means that this is a 5 bolt block. Even without the bellhousing numbers to verify the 5 bolt block, the trans clearly shows that it is utilizing the inner narrow bolt pattern to the bellhousing which only fits a 5 bolt block.

  • I'm confused on this car. Here's the first ans last Q & A from the auction at the bottom of the page:

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Q: Hello, Does the block have the vin. stamped on the side. Original buck tag ?? Thanks, John Jan-04-09

A: HI JOHN NO BUCK TAG NEVER HAD ONE. NO VIN ON THE BLOCK. THE EXTRA BLOCK HAS A K CODE VIN FROM A 65 K CODE CAR. THANKS FRED 800 580 9299

Q: DOES THIS CAR HAVE THE ORIGNAL K CODE MOTOR? CAN YOU POST SOME PICTURES OF THE MOTOR AND UNDERNEATH THE CAR? SINCE THIS CAR IS A 2 OWNER IS THE 67K MILES ACTURAL? THANKS Dec-25-08

A: hi Thanks for the interest in our Mustang. yes I do have the original motor. Yes I did. Yes I have a signed odo statement representing the miles as authentic. This is sweet car. Make me a resonable offer and own a Great car! Thanks Fred 80 580 9299<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

The first answer says he doesn't have the original motor, he has a 65 block with a VIN on it. The next answer says he has the original block. It either does or doesn't, seems like a hedged bet.

  • He says " and steers right " , sounds like an alignment is in order! ! ! <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • Gary, my true GT has no console, having a " FWBS ", or full width bench seat ! <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • Has pictures of engine and underside. The engine seems to have a lot of key parts but can't see the VIN. The body work and floor pan work seems kind of shotty, just my opinion. The car does present itself very nice, though.
