    63A- Mustang Fastback

    VIN# 5F09K

    Super Rare Fastback !!!!!!!

The classic pony is rare and up for auction.....This pony is a factory K-code meaning it came from factory with a High Performance 289-4v-V8..... VIN# matches title, door tag, drivers front fender as well as passengers front fender....The car was obviously restored back in the 80's / 90's by the previous owner.... The paint shows it's age and is a 10 footer at best and I would repaint if you want to take it to the next level of restoration...... The interior is in good shape as shown in pictures ...... This pony is loaded with many options such as rally pac, AC , powersteering, disc brakes, center console, fold down rear seat, etc ....... All interior guages show to be in working order as well as lights, blinkers, horn, wipers, radio, etc.....The 289 V8 engine starts right up and runs excellent....You can tell when driving that it's a K code and not a A or C code 289....Mustang is super fast and fun to drive...... A true blast to drive..... Can use as a daily driver or take it to the next level in restoration......This pony has an Automatic transmission in nice working order with no known issues....It came from factory with a 4-speed manual transmission but was converted to automatic years back by previous owner....... This mustang runs and drives great...... Get's plenty of thumbs up when you take this pony on the road... This pony rides on a set of mustang rims that are mounted on a nice set of white letter tires......We just had our mechanic go over the car and gave it a front end alignment..... Has a nice dual exhaust system that sounds nice ..... Undercarriage shows clean metal in nice shape.... Finding 1965 K code fastback's are very hard to do anymore....In summary this classic pony is a blast to drive and would make a great investment........ Let the pictures speak for themselves....

Lots of Questions about this one

    New E-Bay Listing: 66 K Coupe BIN: $33,900.00

    By Seller: rkmotorscharlotte

    In: Charlotte, NC

    Listing Description:

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>With early Mustangs, the fastbacks and convertibles get all the love. But how about a GT-spec coupe featuring a K-code Hi-Po 289, a 4-speed, and Signalflare Red paint that gives it a classic look? Ford didn't keep very good records of how many of each body style were built, but of the 25,517 GTs built in 1966, how many were coupes? And how many have survived? If you go to a Ford show, you'll discover that GT coupes are rare finds indeed, which makes this bright red K-code GT that much more special.

First off, yes, it appears that this is indeed a real K-code GT, with a clearly visible K stamped into the inner fender. The door tag decodes accurately and confirms it:

    6 1966 model year

    R San Jose production

    07 Coupe

    K 289 cubic inch, 271 horsepower Hi-Po V8

    136697 Consecutive build number

65B Body code (coupe, luxury interior)

    5 Color (Signalflare Red)

    66 Trim (black luxury)

    27L Production date (November 27, 1965)

    71 DSO (Los Angeles)

    5 Axle (3.50 ratio)

    5 Transmission (4-speed manual)

Just because it displaces only 289 cubic inches, don't make the mistake of dismissing the potent V8 under the hood. Shelby used this engine in the early GT350s and dominated on the racetracks, and the 271 horsepower K-code 289 is only a step below the 306 horsepower race Shelbys. The engine in this GT is a replacement 289—date code correct, of course—and has been fully rebuilt to K-code specs with a few upgrades. There's a Holley 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, as well as a Mallory ignition system to light the fires. Traditional "Tri-Y" headers take care of exhaust duties, and chrome dress up items such as the valve covers and air cleaner are 100% appropriate on this car. The block is dressed in traditional Ford Blue paint, which looks awesome against the satin black inner fenders. As I mentioned before, the all-important K is clearly visible stamped into the inner fender, and there's a reproduction Autolite battery in the tray. It fires up with a snarl, and with a solid lifter cam, makes the most wonderful mechanical sounds as you rip it through the gears.

Ripping through the gears is easy, thanks to a bulletproof Toploader 4-speed, which was original equipment in this GT. Out back, there's a Ford 9-inch full of 3.50 gears. New shocks have been installed, and the car just received $1500 worth of ministrations from the pros at the RK Motors shop. The chassis is solid with no serious rust or rot issues, and a fresh coat of sound deadener keeps it comfortable and quiet inside the passenger compartment. A recent dual exhaust system featuring Flowmaster mufflers has been installed, and it sounds awesome blowing through the original trumpets in the rear valence panel. Gorgeous, recently restored styled steel wheels carry modern 195/75/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials for modern ride and handling characteristics.

The car is in excellent condition and only has 21,000 miles since it was restored over 13 years ago! I have owned this car going on 6 years and it has never missed a beat. This my baby and I made sure to take the very best care of it to keep it looking pristine. It is a rust free California Car! It looks, runs and sounds beautiful.

There are many highlights to the car and below are just a few.

    V8 289 CID 4V High Performance, 271 HP

Twilight Turquoise came on this car, color code 5.

    Original K-Code block and heads

    New McCloud Clutch

    New Tires

    Original reproduction AM/FM radio w/ MP3 interface

2 new 6” kick panel speakers

2 tweeters in the dash cover vent

2 new 6”x9” in rear reproduction trap door w/ 600 watt amp (still have original trap door)

    And much more!

K-Codes came with front disk brakes and I also have the original manifold that came on the car. The suspension is in great condition.

I made sure to go above and beyond all required maintenance. I religiously changed the motor oil every 2,000 miles with Valvoline VR1 Racing oil. The transmission and rear differential fluids have been changed once a year.

I assure you this car runs awesome and the only thing you have to do is turn the key!!

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>You are bidding on a rare 1967 Mustang GT K code convertible. I was restoring this car to become a fun toy but I have lost the time to put into it. The car right now is a shell with no engine. It has the original 4 wheel drum brakes, dash, close ratio 4 speed and a 3.50:1 9” nodular rear. The car came in Raven black with deluxe interior (Which I do not have). The VIN is still stamped on the body on the driver side inner fender and has the build plate located on the door. I have a clean title in my name for this vehicle The floor pans were replaced but the rear floor has frame extenders going through them. The body is has had metal work done and is in primer with blue accent paint for finding flaws for blocking before final paint. The fabric part of the top is missing but the mechanical part is there and in working condition. Convertible motors works fine. I have all original glass for the vehicle. This is one if not the rarest mustang out there right now. The car is being sold as is and I will not pay to ship it. If you have any questions on the car you may email me at davboz@comcast.net. Thank you and good luck.

I have done my best to describe this 67 Mustang; I am not a Ford Mustang expert, seeing in person by someone that is familiar with this vintage is suggested.

I am told that there are 18 such cars registered.

Ok I will would like to be a little specific because the number of emails and offers is overwhelming and I would like to trim it down. This car has been in my family for 36 years. My Uncle bought the car back in 1975 for $300 because the right front had minor body damage. He fixed it and made the car into a 1/4 mile track car. He blew the rear and let the car sit a sometimes outside for a while then in a garage for about 25 years. Then gave the car to me. I was restoring it back to original but have lost time to put into it. The body has been fixed the right way with patches and a skim coat. NOT MASS AMOUNTS BONDO. The car came originally with front disc but now has drum. The frame on the car is in great condition. Only surface rust if any at all. I have the original trans the original pumpkin and drive shaft NO ENGINE. He gave it to me with a built up Cleveland that I am not selling. I will be posting more pics of the frame and under carriage plus what vin stamps and the build plate that is on the car. Please try to bid here. I am entertaining offers but there is too many for me to handle. If you can blow me away with an offer I will sell early. Thank you and I appreciate everyone who has contacted me and helped a chevy guy with this ford. If you require a Marti report I will get one only if you have a good offer. Thanks again

Ask me for and special photos , I have too many email to respond to and will do my best to answer your questions ASAP. If I don't get back to you soon, please remind me, ask me again.

Thanks: Sacramento Mustang hope to show you my car this week. Enjoy your trip East

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Here's an investment grade 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback K-Code that's been painstakingly restored back to original specs. This is a three owner Arizona car that was in Arizona until 2005 (compelte ownership history available). The car is extremely nice and even the undercarriage is finished in correct red oxidized undercoating. The car has been restored back to all original specs/colors and we think this is the perfect combination of colors and options for any 1965 Fastback Mustang. Chances are good that if you walked into a Ford dealership in early 1965 and could hand pick your options this car is pretty close to what you might have ended up with. The 5R09K188325 Vin# tells us this car was built in San Jose, CA (R) and is a 2+2 fastback (09) with the 289 4V V8 HiPo (K). Furthermore, the metal door tag tells us the car is finished in correct Poppy Red (3) with White Crinkle Vinyl with Black Appointments (D6). The date is February 18,1965 (18B) with a #'s matching 4 speed manual (5) and a Ford 9 Inch with factory 3.50:1 gears (5). This is a #'s matching drive train car from front to back including the 289 HiPo V8 under hood. The only thing not original to this car is the addition of a Vintage AC/Heat system so the car will be more livable if you want to drive it. Even so, no permanent alterations were made to the car in fitting the AC system so it could be removed and put back to stock if originality is a big concern to you. Other factory options on the car include the rare & correct K-Code 8,000 RPM Rally Pac gauging, front disc brakes, styled steel wheels, and fold down rear seat. Everything on the car works, even the little clock in the Rally Pac is working! All the original metal Ford ID tags can still be found in places like on the intake manifold and the carburetor. The restorer did an excellent job with this car and it's an absolute blast to drive. So hop in, rev the legendary 289 HiPo, and start grabbing gears through the four speed. Or just park this wonderful car into your collection and have peace of mind that you’ve got one of the rarest and nicest 1965 Mustangs of all time!

    New E-Bay Listing: 65 K Coupe

    Listing Info:

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Here we have a true 1965 Ford Mustang K Code Coupe Factory equipped with a 289 HiPo and a 4 speed Toploader transmission. This recently reconditioned 289 high performance GT began as a project in 2007 and after several years of collecting and assembling this vehicle we bring it to market as a nice driver quality vehicle.

We started our project by removing all panels and replacing parts and pieces as needed. On this rare car, we were able to complete the original look and fit by using Ford items such as fenders, hood, trunk lid, valances and even the original drivers door. We were forced to use aftermarket floors, trunk pans and many of the trim items to bring this back to the original look and design.

To prepare for paint, this vehicle was stripped to bare metal, epoxy primed, and block sanded. We then panel painted the insides of the hood, trunk, fenders, door jams and other areas as needed. Next, we completed this stage by painting the exterior of the car with four coats of the original Wimbledon White color, which is the factory correct color as coded on the warranty plate.

The GT grille and trim are a mix of original and aftermarket pieces used to achieve the sporty look Ford intended. Bumpers, chrome trim and all the weatherstripping was also replaced as this was a bare car when she came out of the paint shop. All original Ford glass was used with the exception of a new windshield, as they are always weathered.

The interior was reconditioned to the original standard black color with a new steering wheel, horn button, dash pad, carpet, upholstery and headliner. We also replaced all of the dash trim, the dash bezel, glove box door and rebuilt the heater box assembly, all of which are in working order. In addition, all glass was properly adjusted with regulators and locks being serviced to assure good functionality.

Mechanically, this is a collection of 289 HiPo parts, although we do not offer these parts as number matching to the car. You will notice in the pictures the 289 K-Code number block, 289 HiPo heads, factory dual point distributor, HiPo balancer and a HiPo style fuel pump. We also used a HiPo style alternator equipped with the original pulley, a 4100 carburetor, a repro 289 HiPo fan and exhaust manifolds to clone the factory look.

You will find that this reconditioned motor not only has the correct looks and parts but is also in good running order and does not smoke or knock and will perform as designed. With a new clutch and pressure plate, we find the 4 Speed Toploader, which does not have an ID tag, in good working order, not skipping, grinding or jumping out of gears. It is equipped with the factory shifter which operates as designed. We also equipped this car with a new heavy duty radiator, concourse hoses, concourse battery cables and even a new battery.

Now for the running gear, we rebuilt the braking system with a new master cylinder. To add to the looks of the car, we added 5 1965 Styled Steel Wheels, all of which look great with new 205 70 14 Firestone blackwall tires and black center caps. Next, we added dual exhaust using original tips and bezels. To assure trouble free fuel delivery we replaced the gas tank lines and rebuilt the fuel pump, adding a GT gas cap to top off the whole package.

We are offering this drivers quality classic at a reasonable reserve compatible with a common A code Mustang pricing. Having said that, this sweet ride is being offered in as is condition, informing the future buyer that we assembled this vehicle with HiPo parts from our extensive stock of over 50,000 parts.

Keep in mind that this car is a true K-Code, as is shown not only with the Vin stamp but also the rear end snubber pad and a host of other HiPo only items. It was assembled from a variety of sources and we are not advertising or implying that this is a numbers correct vehicle.

We would be amiss not to mention the rear end, which is in good working order, has been replaced with an incorrect 8 inch. Another inconsistency is that the correct HiPo motor mounts are not installed in this car although it is correctly bolted into the car. We are not willing to testify that these are the only incorrect items on this car as we have attempted to bring her back to stock! We will advise you to do your own research as to a complete list of parts necessary for a HiPo 289 car.

To give you more information on the actual car, we have decoded the door's data plate for you to review.
