No worries, I live near the Paradise interchange.

Eddie

Sorry mate, but I will get in touch with you....

So turns out it was just a simple lube job required. $100 later and all going nicely, it's like a new gearbox!!

Hey Rene,

I had a toploader rebuilt by this place but I haven't used it yet. They are the Aussie agent for David Kee.

Hey Zed.

Thanks for that. Yes I'm still in the Magill area. There's a guy in Glynde called Transteer that I went to. He had some wild cars in the, of particular notice a 67 GT500 Eleanor.

Hope you don't mind if I send you a PM just to ask a couple of questions.

Thanks for reaching out.

Hi all.

An update on this issue. After nearly two years I finally got the car in to the transmission guy here to have an evaluation as I couldn't deal with it any longer. He gave it a drive and really struggled and wondered how I could even drive the kar. We got it back to his shed and he sprayed WD40 into the gear selector area and kept changing gears, more spray and more gear changing. Now it's like butter, easy to change and hit every gear both up and down, better than it ever was since I've had the kar. So now it's booked in to find out what the issue is. So at least we're moving forward.

Sent.

Thanks, enjoy the SB!

Kind regards,

René

Hi all.

I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer anywhere after doing a search.

I've got a set of original riveted 1965 steel styled wheels that I want to restore. Just wondering if the exact colour of the paint outs has ever been determined?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

René

The car doesn't pop out of gear at any stage. Sometimes I can get it in from third to second, but most times it's a battle. Have you got a photo of the blocker ring?
If the transmission gets opened to replace the blocker ring, do I need any other components such as gasket kits or anything?

Regards,

René

Yes Fred, I'm in Australia. Getting parts to Australia shouldn't be an issue, even in these covid times.

René

Hi all.

I'm having troubles down shifting from third to second, so I assume my synchros are worn.

Being a non-gearhead in this respect, would someone please explain if I should do a rebuild of the entire transmission or if I can just replace the syncro for this gear alone?

Also a list of parts and where to get them would be fantastic. Obviously I want quality components not some pricey low quality parts.

Thank you or any input.

Kind regards,

René

There are a number of flags that are noticeable in the pictures.

-Fred-

Hi Fred, been a while! Hope you're well.

Would you mind specifying the "flags" either here or in a pm?

I'm not buying the car (as stunning as it is, my personal perfect colour combo), but I'd like to know for my own education.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

René

Hi guys.

So obviously I found the new forum, but I still can't find the Old Registry website (289 High Performance Mustang - HiPo Mustang Home)

Will it be making a comeback as well?

Thanks.

René

Hi Guys.

Back again. Thanks to all involved in getting this priceless resource up and going again, it has definitely been missed. Hopefully all the old information will be back up when possible.

All the best,

René (Australia)

Hi Guys.

This is René from Australia here. I just found the new site after doing some searches and stumbling on the address from th Vintage Mustang Forum.

Thanks to the admins for getting this site up and running again, I missed it and was worried all of that golden info might have been lost.

All the best moving forward.

René aka pony65k

PS May I make a suggestion and I'm not sure if this is possible, but if this occurs again, maybe send out an email when you have a new home since you have all our email addresses?

I am glad to hear it....Hopefully you have enough passion for the HiPo's to keep one and hang with the rest of us....I sold my rare K08 down under b//c I didn't have another project in me and he wanted it more than anyone stateside.

Hey, there's plenty of us Aussie's who have bought these K's from the States. The numbers are definitely rising over here and our strong Aussie dollar really helps.

Hey Rene -

Good to see that you are still around as well. I hope your K car has continued to do well for you. Everything is good for me but I have decided to slim down a little (cars that is) so this Shelby will be going if an interested party comes along. Shoot me an e-mail sometime and get me up to date on everything you have going on these days. By the way, how were the Get Smart DVDs?

Regards,

David

Hi Dave. Is your email address still the same?

For a car that has had a major restoration, those door sills look very rough.
