Sold for $7500

I am unclear as to why the seller listed this as a 64 1/2 Kar.

Probably had the lipped hood. Somewhat early '65 San Jose car.

b9folk_old · September 18, 2007 at 10:27 AM

That lipped hood issue really shows how much pressure they were under to "crank 'em out" in late 1964. Otherwise you'd think they would have fixed the tooling issue right away to correctly fold the metal over. My kar has one of those - one of its "early" oddities.

Ford had a lot of excess inventory and simply used it up on early 65 cars. This bit of fugality was a trait of Ford instituted by Henry the first.

Seller's eBay feedback rating is questionable.

BoS_old · September 24, 2007 at 7:21 AM

Check that the engine actually is a real HiPo

as he said in his ad. If not you should be able

to get the price reduced.

Make sure that you bring some tools along to help check whether this is a real Hipo engine or not. It is not that tough to drop the oil pan enough to look at the short block.
