Well, early HiPo's had the screw together design but sometimes
in the fall in 1964 it was changed to the crimped design.

One of a few mistakes in the book.
/Bo
April 65 built car used the crimped version and number is
3939.

This is what we get when the governments and bureaucrats get too much power in the new progressive world. They know what is best for us and they are just there to protect us from ourselves, right.
Personally I hate these people, where common sence and looking at
the big picture is long gone.

Well, my aluminum pump has C5AE-8505-C and is dated
April 65, i.e. 65 in the circle with 4 dots around it.

My 65 Shelby with the big 715 cfm Holley 3259 and original engine
with stock HiPo cam idles fine at 750rpm. Produces 16 inches of mercury vacum at that idle.

I bought an S1MS Monte Carlo bar at the 30 year Mustang anniversary at Charlotte for $175, talk about inflation. The S1MK number is a kit including the bolts as Fred said and the S1MS is the bar only.

Thanks Fred,
I just followed the instructions from I believe,
How To Rebuild Small Block Ford Engines or
something. Another thing I did was to grease the edge
of the seal lips before installation. This was something I learnt
after having a leak through the seal. Probably the engine was sitting too long after rebuild and when started the lip was destroyed.

Also, please don't forget to fill the hole where the pin used
to be located with some silicone or you'll have a leak.
/Bo
Thanks, do you mind to inform me about your source
of this information. Week number,1st and last digit and
the year in the middle is something I have never seen on anything else.
/Bo
Good morning,
Does any of you know what the four digits below the text means?
Is it a date code and if so how should it be interpreted?
Thanks,
/Bo
Zray,
I am so sorry you are selling your car. As I have said before,
it's beautiful and I wish I had the financial means to buy it.
/Bo
In my humble opinion the chrome water necks are crap.
Mine leaked as well and it didn't stop until I replaced
it with an original. Also make sure the thermostate fits
into the recessed area on water neck or in the intake.
/Bo
The problem is the 552 which stands for a 289 4-V, i.e. the 225 horse
engine with a standard transmission while the HiPo should have a 554 number.
/Bo
Thanks for a great story. Driving his HiPo at 97, what a guy.
/Bo
In 65, Shelby used the early model with a slide to mount the
spare inside the car but left the later type with a hook
in the trunk.
/Bo
Don't believe it's from an early Shelby as none I have seen
starts with 5R09K175.

67 Group II car number 8 was raced in Sweden in 67 and driven by
Bo Ljungfeldt at among others the Karlskoga race track. It was later sold to Ford in Denmark. In the end of the 70's I got this information and tried to locate it in Denmark but was unsuccessful.
Later heard it had beed sold to Ford in Norway and raced there.
It's now owned by a Norwegian guy who is restoring it.

Thanks Brant,
As always you are most likely correct as the original spacer
I found was faded but a darker color (not paint). Painted it black and put it on my car. I happen to have an original 66 gold
spacer and it's not painted either but gold galvanized or
something.
/Bo
Brant,
I can spend hours looking at these pictures.
Have a question, the alternator spacer is natural on this car.
Was this an early 65 (64 1/2) thing or was it due to the
plant? Painted mine black on early May 65 car.
