Fairly nice looking, though underhood looks like it was done by a plumber...

    Agreed! <img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Notice the absence of the starter solenoid & the routing of the battery cables.

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

I hadn't notice the missing solenoid - must be a "self-starter". And although it may be a practical add-on, the overflow/washer fluid tank detracts a LOT from the look of the compartment. Maybe it was done by Red Green? The overflow hose from the radiator, as well as the hose to the tank look like bunsen burner hose from a science lab.

Except for the underhood things the car looks pretty nice.

...whats the dip stick doing sticking out that far?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

If the car had a generator, the dipstick would be properly located.

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Because they have a 64 1/2 timing cover. Note the blocked off section for the oil filler neck. Most likely a pieced-together motor.

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

That's exactly right, Charles. The corporate blue paint says it all, doesn't it?

Maybe it was done by Red Green?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Lyle - it takes a Minnesotan to come up with this one... what a riot. I might be wrong, but it seems to me that "unmolested" could be one of Red Greens favorite words.

First thing we all noticed is the blue engine color. I had my '65 engine rebuilt to specs and painted the engine blue cause the car is not concours and we like the blue better. Of course it is something that can be reversed. Who knows, I'll get bored some day and change it to black.

Well, it's Autorama day in Detroit...

  • I bought this one and will be restoring it to K specs. It is a rust free DSO 71(L.A.) car. It needs quite a bit of work under the hood. Engine is a Jan`64 5 bolt 289. Vintage F4B. Trans is HEH-T.
