Some time ago when I was into the research on the Arvinode system I posted a "wanted" ad in Hemmings offering to buy a system in any condition, used or new. I received a lengthy and detailed message from a fellow in Cameroon claiming to have been a police officer who had retired and was now selling his spare parts off. In his second or third email he naturally wanted me to send him money via PayPal, etc. When I asked him to send me detailed images he sent me a picture of a contemporary 5.0 liter system he had lifed from the Magnaflow web site. Dirtbags are everywhere.

A woman from England who writes poorly, is out of the country on a missionary trip, and just has to buy your K code sight unseen with Paypal? Not your typical HiPo buyer demographic, is it?
When it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck then it's probably a f#%king duck:)

Looking for a NOS 65 two speed three-wire Fomoco script blower motor (preferrably with squirrel cage) like this one:

The Arvinode is produced in very limited quantities and there aren't any full chassis jigs to reproduce them in one piece the way they were originally produced by Arvin. There has to be a competent mechanic involved to properly fit and weld the components when it comes to reproduction exhaust.

The K appears to be a 1 used to form a K. Can't recall having seen other SJ cars that looked like that. Generally the block and trans were stamped at the same time they went down the line with the same alpha-numeric stamps. The K has definitely been dummied up.

If the H pipe was hanging too low it's the way the H pipe was fabricated as the part number for the Arvinode H pipe is the same as that of the other duals.

...and that a good title was gotten from one of those title companies that claim to be able to get a title for anything??

I'm not aware of companies advertising they can do this. This would seem to be a clearly illegal activity.

VINs have been in the public domain in a variety of ways for a long time. Jim Smart's Mustang Production Guide and Tony's book have long lists of VINs. There will always be knock off artists who try to fake a car, but if the car is known and in the registry it becomes much harder to fake and subsequently defraud an uneducated buyer. If you look at this site, there is a strong case for documenting cars to support their authenticity via use of the VIN.

From the MCA RuleS:
"D. Tire Pressure Decal: 65 - may or may not have decal. 66 - in glove box on back left corner or on inside of glove box door. 65-66 - Red Line tires must have Red Line decal on glove box door. T5 may have MUSTANG deleted ......... 1"

Another car spotted in Washington at the Mustangs Northwest Roundup. This one is not in the registry. Nice Dearborn coupe recently restored by second owner, who has all the original documentation. Original AC installation.

Has anyone had luck recreating the date code stencils for embossing ignition coils?
Same question for starters.

Brian,
MustangTek has all the early muscle parts catalogs available online at their web site and you can download them as PDFs. Many images of the actual over the counter carbs can be found in these books.

I know it's not winter yet, but I'm wondering:
I moved my car from sunny California to British Columbia this year. I've never had to put a car away for a cold winter and don't yet have the luxury of a heated garage, though I do have indoor storage. Are there any tips on how to prepare for cold storage as it can get to -25C where I'm living now.

I don't recall there being any color coding on the steering boxes.
-
Virgina Mustang has all of the manuals and parts books available as a PDF download purchase now.

Do you have the check ball in place?

I'll be down from BC with my 65 FB middle of the week and staying through Sunday. Look forward to seeing you guys.

Any forum members plan on attending this event next week?

I don't have ready access to a DB meter, but they will have one at the race track at the Northwest Mustang Roundup next week in Washington. I can probably get a reading for you when I'm there.
