Sure, I knew it had lead content. Know of any places in the U.S. that will do tin/lead dip?

No, I never looked. If so inclinded you may want to do it yourself.
Lead alloy is available & used by those that cast there own bullets for reloading target ammo.

Some carpet install tips...
Using a heat gun 12-18 inches away you can get the carpet hot enough without distortion, then simply press it in place to form the plastic backing. When your hands start to feel uncomfortably hot is about the right time to start forming.

When encountered a very large gathering or pucker of material you may have to use some other techniques.
[Blocked Image: http://www.jefflilly.com/Fabrication/Fabrication-F/muscle-car-carpet/DSC01727.JPG]
Heat the carpet and then lay a heavy weight against the gathering, work up outward on the carpet 1-2 inches at a time.

The top edge it was a bit more stubborn to move. Pull back the carpet and heated the plastic backing directly to make it move easier.

An engine builder/machine shop in your area should be able to measure the block for you. The deck surface must be flat within .002" TIR(total indicator readout)in any 6" & flat within .006" TIR overall. The maximum deck height 8.211"(+.000"/-.006")minimum deck height 8.201"(+.006/-.000") The spec's are from the Ford engineering documents.
