<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Up for auction is a very rare complete set of 65 Shelby or K code Mustang motor mounts. These are were only put on Shelbys or HiPo Mustangs in 65 (One Year Only). Generally you only find the rubber blocks show up in auctions never a complete set!! These are very different than the standard 65 mounts as they actually lowered the motor and extra inch down in the engine compartment. The frame brackets are unique along with the little pillow block that joins the frame bracket to the rubber block. This is your chance to get a complete set for your rare Hipo Ford!! • BIN @ $1000 ???

    He's joking, right ???

Be interesting to see if these sell with that BIN price and a Reserve.

    Anyone smell "shell bidding" ???

  • I also thought the guy was nuts for having a $1000 BIN until a friend pointed out he has seen several complete sets of 65 HiPo motor mounts hit $650 to $750 in past Ebay auctions. I don't think there's been a complete set on there for quite a while so maybe $1000 isn't too crazy. Glad I don't need 'em.

  • We've been tracking prices on all sorts of HiPo parts here, with most of them located in the <i>Archives</i>. Here's a few links to threads listing motor mount assemblies that were offered in past eBay auctions:

The NOS set brought only $330.00 in November of 2003...

  • Hi Guys, I just had to respond to the comments I've just read. Just to point out that in the examples of mounts sold or listed over the last couple of years only the first one is a complete set of hipo mounts. The second is a standard 65 mount and the third is missing the frame brackets. I assure you this is not a "shell auction" what ever that is. These mounts are very hard to come by complete and the only reason I'm selling them is I was able to purchase a pair of frame mounts and NOS rubber blocks which completed a set that I have been trying to complete for 5 years. Anyway the new frame brackets are already cleaned and painted so I put the original mounts off of my early HiPo coupe up for auction. With shipping etc I have 410.00 in those frame mounts and NOS rubber blocks. I wish I could afford to sell my set cheaper but can't.

  • It's been a while since we've seen a complete set of these.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>These are the correct HiPo motor mounts for a 1965 Ford Mustang or Shelby. These are the ones that were found on the high performance small block engines and I think they were also found on the early 1966 cars. They may work on other applications as well such as fairlanes but I am not sure. Whether your car is a fastback, convertible or coupe, these are the real deal. While they are not NOS, they are in very good condition. Everything as seen in the picture is included.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

  • This <i>partial</i> set of HiPo motor mounts was <b>SOLD</b> for $1080.00 by eBay seller "fastbackstack".

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

These are the mounts that support the engine block to the cast iron engine mount that bolts to the shock towers. The part number that appears on the rubber insulator on each mount is C4ZA-6038-A. The distance between the engine mounting holes is 7", center to center.

These motor mounts are in good, original condition. One rubber insulator appears in fairly new condition. The other is dirty, but should clean up nicely. The dirty mount has rotated slightly and will need to be readjusted. The mounting nuts are included on the stud, but the cast iron mounts that mount to the shock tower are not included.

This style of rubber insulator mount is hard to come by and is not reproduced. Similar mounts were used in an AC Cobra. Use these mounts to complete your classic Mustang restoration.

  • Sold for <b>$1,212.87 </b> by seller mustangmasters428.

    <b>DESCRIPTION:</b>

Here we have a set of good used Original Ford 289 HiPo engine side motor mounts for a 65-66 Mustang K Code . Ford designers built a heavy duty set of mounts just for this engine to handle the additional torque created by these high performance engines. This set of block plates offered a reinforced bolt through the center to assure a stronger support and not break away like standard versions.

This set is all original and in good condition for its age and the fact it is used. We have blasted and inspected these and see no welds, repairs, bends, or breaks and they were in working order when removed. The rubber is not deteriorated or over compressed and we have added a coat of semi gloss laquer paint to protect untill they reach their new home. These mounts would work great for a driven car but those with Concourse or over the top restorations might replace them to meet your standards in your HiPo beauty.

  • Sold for <b>$2,150.00</b> by seller sac1dah. (Is this the highest selling set, ever?)

    DESCRIPTION:

Early 64.5 to 65 HIPO 271hp Mustang and Shelby motor mounts- one complete set with motor mounts and frame mounts for lh and rh side. These are starting to be hard to come by. These units came with a disasembled hipo motor I purchased a few years ago. I no longer have a need for these units and its time to clean the garage of some of these parts. The pads and rubber donuts are in great shape. One of the bolt threads had been stripped and re threaded to a smaller thread size. You can see it has a spring bolt nut instead of a factory castle nuts. Not a big deal but it will need to be repaired correctly to be accurate. fits factory K code Fords abd Shelby.

  • What do you suppose is driving these prices? Is it the Shebly or Cobra clone people? It's hard to imagine a hipo car losing the mounts along the way during it's life unless the engine was swapped out.

  • I'd bet that lots of 65's had their original mounts changed over to the later style mounts because they were stronger. Back when these cars were used/abused/raced daily, the owners probably just tossed the original mounts out in favor of what was 'better'.

And at these prices, I guess my 65 will have to be happy with the later style mounts it wears now.

  • I have the opposite situation. My '65 Kar is missing the original engine (it has a C code which I'll Hipo-ize) but it still has those early Hipo mounts and Hipo fan. I figure the original engine must have gotten blown up.
