Woohoo #2... VIN stamp on trans

  • Finally got around to cleaning up the toploader from my K fastback. Was taking my time with a small brush and cleaner, wiped off where I had cleaned and the VIN stamp seemed to appear from nowhere, kinda cool!

Found a few markings, which I figured some may be interested in. For reference, my K is a January '65 Dearborn car.

  • Contrats! My tranny stamp looks identical, except it is on the opposite side of the drain plug.

Your car is only a few thousand ahead of my April '65 K - be interesting to get some notes or photos of all the marks you find - it will help me with my reassembly - if I ever get to that point!

If you get a good list or photos of all the factory marks please let me know.

  • Charles, your Kar is another example of the HEH-T transmission being used after the Ford supposed cutoff date of 10-1-1964.

Hehe, pouring salt on the wound? <img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • Nice

Added them to the collection - of course.

As usual - some the same as others - plus different scribles.

Nothing at the speedo cable point? Or the "bumps" at the bottom of the tailshaft housing?
