What other types of cars do you own?

  • <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

    65 GTK Fastback

    65 A-code Fastback

    65 GT Convertible

    67 GT500

    68 GT350 Conv

    69 GT350 Conv

    67 GTA Conv

I am going to keep two of them. Which do you think I should keep and why?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

if they were all of equal quality, which they probably aren't. But if they were I'd keep the 65 GTK Fastback & the 67 GT-500

    . no contest.

  • I sold my '89 Mustang hatchback GT to a nephew when we bought a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country, my daily driver. I miss the 'stang but it has since died anyway.

I also have a '77 T-bird that I bought in 1989, same summer I bought my '65 hipo and same price, both were $3000. The hood is 5' long.

The wife drives a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Also on our premises are the father-in-law's 1937 Ford 60 coupe in original condition and his 2 Dodge Caravans (2005 and a much older one.)

  • They are all different and interesting in different ways. They are all CA black plate cars.

    1) 65 KGTFB Silver Smoke Grey. Pretty original other than Fan Blade. All other factory items including motor and trans.. Third Owner.

    2) 65 A-code Fastback. Father Son project that should be driving this weekend. Too bad son can't drive it until I see the B average.

3)65 Gt Conv, one sweet car. Ivy Green, Green and White Pony. All options and second owner. Factory red oxide floors.

    4) 67 gt500. Second owner, all original car other than one repaint from Lime to White, black interior. Never damaged.

    5) 68 GT350 Gold/Black. My favorite to drive. Most likely one to keep.

    6) 69 GT350 Conv Interesting car, but too big for me. Also more complex a process to restore.

    7) 67 GTA Conv- Deluxe interior Acapulco Blue. All done.

I might need to keep three. I like the K-code, GT500 and GT 350 Conv. I really like the 65 GT Conv, but I can't keep them all. It is like which kid do you like better. They all have something. This is surely not the time to sell. So I will most likely keep them all until something changes. Thanks

I'm curious, why is the 68 GT350 Gold/Black. your favorite one to drive?

    Z. Ray

  • The gt350 Conv is just a great driving and looking car. They only made 400 of them and they are easier than the 500's to work on. Plus it is an automatic and I live in a hilly area and it is just easy to enjoy.

  • Besides my 65 K fastback,

    2004 toyota Corrola

  • Epperstang THANK YOU VERY MUCH for listing your vehicles. I have a total of 7 and my wife is always bugging me about getting rid of a couple of them. I'm printing out your list right now and giving it too her. <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Have you outgrown the new garage yet?<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Have to be getting close!

The Cobra we bought a few weeks ago took up the last possible space. We bought a lift last spring that extended us one. Next addition will cause us to go back to renting storage.

Happy to assist! BTW "EPPERSTANG" is the wife aka "Joyce" in this crazy Mustang addicted family.

Not many women that would forgo a new kitchen to get another Mustang. But I'd rather be cruising than cooking.

  • I am very fortunate that my wife enjoys the cars as well.

Here is a ‘YouTube” link of her in her 1965 Shelby GT350

During an exhibition event at Willow Springs. NOTE:

Notice the PINK stripes on her hood!

    6S219,

Just curious, what rear end ratio is used for this type of racing?

    Tom

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

We have several different rear ends. At Willow Springs we use a 4.30 gear.

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

That looks like a lot of fun racing - interesting that there isn't alot of shifting going on....

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Video from her car was during an exhibition event. They had limited passing and did not want us getting up to speed. But also keep in mind that with 4.30 gears you do not need to do a lot of shifting.

Here is a link to from a earlier post from my car. Little more action, and speed.

  • In the past I've owned 3 K's....6S 008, 6S 744 and

5R09K153803: all 3 are still giving me pangs of

remorse esp 153803 as I owned it twice and the end

result of the second sale was the unibody only ended

up somewhere in Ca at last report.<img src=images/icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

At present I have an overcrowded "horse corral":

    1) 1964.5 07 K

    2) 1966 09 A

    3) 1982 GT T-Top)

    4) 1986 SVO

    5) 1993 Cobra

    6) 1991 Toy 4 Runr

    7) 2005 Hyundai Accent

Someday soon, with retirement looming in the near

future, another Mustang or 3 will end up on the

    sales block....a very revolting developement!
