The door data plate even looks to be a reproduction on the 2nd ebay (ticket) one. What a RIP OFF!! It should be reported.

I reported both auctions. So far I seen a 50% success rate in getting auctions pulled. I think the more people that report an auction, the more likely it will be pulled. The "Report this item" is at the bottom of every auction page Then: Listing Violations > eBay Motors or vehicle related > Prohibited (banned) items > Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plates

I just reported both auctions as well...read some of the Q&A about the one with the "ticket"...this guy should be put in jail.

A: As in my description.I bought it about 20 years ago and never registured it.I thought about restoring it.I got fed up and cut up the car.When my son damaged the tag,Cjponyparts would not issue me that tag ,because of the rareity of the car,they needed proof of ownership.This is mainly to keep fraud down.I guess other companys dont care about c code and t code mustangs.I had to registure the car to get the tag.

A: no.If someone was to do this car right they can turn their fastback into a rare dream machine. A K code fastback with this color combo and rare pony package will be worth over 70,000..

Q: Would I be correct in assuming that you are suggesting the new owner of this VIN tag repalce it on his current vehicle- effectively changing the VIN? In case you werent aware, that is illegal Mar-31-08

A: So if a mustang was wrecked in the front and the entire fender apron was replaced.Now the only numbers left are on the door.Who is to say that is not the original car!!

If you opt to report these sales to ebay there is an item in box 2 you can check for banned sales, then in box 3 there is an item for titles being sold without vehicles. They should be pulling the auctions.

What I find interesting with the ticket auction is his remorse over cutting the car up back then, before he knew what a K code was worth. But, he said he "removed the tinted glass" just two years ago.

And what about the A/C and P/S?

Something does not jive. I wouldn't be surprised if there is another Mustang already running around or parked somewhere else with that vin.

No doubt he has the registration, but the car may have been sold years back without the paperwork.

Nothing about it jives. He is a scam artist. This really pisses me off. Maybe the first guy who ended his auction early realized what he was doing is wrong. I'm sure the multiple emails we all probably sent him helped persuade him.

Can't say I feel a lot of sympathy for the ignorant buyer...As for the seller, he gives us a clear indication of his intentions with the following exchange when he was questioned by an "interested party" trying to get a "bargain":
