This beautiful car was sold at R&S in Jan 07 for 78k, and has been listed on ebay several times since for 100k plus...<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

It really makes you wonder why the owner doesn't want to keep the car and enjoy it for years...

I wonder which drivetrain option is just big enough to suck an egg... How much torque does that take?

For that money you could buy 1 of each body type that can be driven and still look and run great. Heck - farting on the driver's seat of this car might lower its value slightly, unless it was done by a celebrity.

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Because the current owner is a dealer?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

We've been watching this car for a while now. Apparently, it goes from one dealer to another dealer, and from auction to auction. Isn't it strange that dealers keep buying it instead of a person who will keep the car for more than just a few months? Considering how much dealers have to mark up the selling price with each transaction, there doesn't seem to be any mark up left on this car...

  • Just checked the auction site. It appears to have been a "no sale". No indication on where the bidding stalled. The dealer that owns it maybe waiting a while to get the $100K - $125K they are looking for in the current market.<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

No surprises here, the classic car market has been softening lately. I imagine we will continue to see it for sale for quite a while.

  • The dealer is doing their best to inflate the price by keeping it at the unrealistic price they had before.

  • They've had it for about 2 years now haven't they?

The car sold for a little more than my GT convertible did, believe the hammer price was something like $68k. It sold at either Russo or Barrett, can't remember which one. The dealer probably has about $75k in it, guess they're trying to hit it big with the $50k markup.

  • It is a very nice car, but it will be a while before these cars hit 3 figures. Personally, I don't want to see that happen for a very long while.

  • This car is back on Ebay again from the San Diego collection. It is still trying for the $125,000 mark.

  • It's a beautiful kar, but it isn't perfect (though way more perfect than factory). It should be priced about 30% lower. I agree with Troy in that I hope the prices don't get that high for some time.

By the way, what is that red sticker on the heater box? Is it a repro?

  • Lyle, What looks like a red sticker on the heater box is the resistor for the three speed heater blower motor.
