do you mean selling? or has sold?

  • thanks for the heads up, my initial reaction is for that price I doubt that its a genuine k code, . I had a K code inspected about 3 years ago very similar by Buyer Services international and it proved not to be a K code and they wanted 23K, its very hard from the other side of the world

  • I must also plead ignorance as far as dealer installed,as I am new to the k-scene.Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can enlighten us.

  • I think I my have seen the red Koupe with P/S and air at Pate Swap Meet last year. It was a nice looking car that looked like a read K Kar, with add ons, to me. Since I wasen't looking to buy I didn't go over it that well though.

We did not mean to confuse anyone. Rohan and I were just poking some fun at the car here. Notice the smiley face in my post.

  • It's in the registry so contact the seller and get more pictures sent to you direct. I've never heard of the 'National K-Code of America' so unless someone else has heard of it, who knows. In the registry it's a 65A Y (silver blue) 22 (blue vinyl) 07B (built 7 Feb 1966) 72 (delivered to San Jose area) 5 (3.50:1) 5 (close ratio 4 speed). Notice that there are no claims as to the original engine, transmission or rear axle and 'new' headers, intake, carb, disc, radio also might cause some to hesitate. I know the laws down under are strict as to 'classic' cars so be careful. I guess you know that.

  • Pala, it might seem hard, just do your homework first - know what you're after and what parts the car should have or what you're willing to sacrifice if there are some parts missing. Ask direct questions. I've imported 4 mustangs from the USA, haven't had a problem and every car has turned up in stronger condition than expected. Found American enthusiasts to be more straight up than Australian's who tend to BS!!

Mate, you're giving up way to easy. With our dollar the way it is, there's not going to be a much better time to get a K. If you wait 12 months, our dollar may have dived, the US will be out of recession and the price of K's will have gone up. You have to be patient Pala. It took me 18 months to get my K. Being so rare (especially the auto's) you can't just click your fingers and there it is. You're in the right place to get all the help you need. If you want help in Australia, go to the MOCA website and look for a guy named Phill Beresford. I can post you his number if you want. He makes heaps of trips to the US and has a lot of people in The States that can maybe hunt one down for you.

    Patience grasshopper.
