  • Have just purchased a 65 K code Fastback GT Rangoon Red/Black 5F09K745811 and it is currently making its way to LA for shipping.

Not my first Mustang, as I already have a restored C code coupe, but certainly my first K code.

Have been looking around for this type of car for a long time, and certainly happy I have found this one based on what I have gathered from my research, and also the in-depth dealings with previous owner.

No horror stories please if you know the car (only joking Ed !)

  • Hello Ray,

A big Texas welcome to you and the new hipo. Glad to hear how many of you guys have Mustangs and enjoy keeping the hobby rolling in the land down under. I went to my first car show this weekend and had a blast. Not many mustangs, but a lot of beautiful cars and friendly folks. Wishing you the best.

  • Hello Belmont and thanks for the link.

I actually have the "old" photos supplied by Ed, and also lots of new images that show the car to be even more complete.

Appreciate being able to read the description text as it further confirms what Ed advised and fully describes the kind of car that I was chasing.

    I hope you didn't do that with a Jim Carrey accent <img src=images/icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

BTW congrats Ray, I'm sure it will be a killer. What's with all the Banana Benders in here anyway???

  • Rene

Yes, isn't it great, three of us in the one topic. And I can say all with K codes (incl Shelbys) which feels good to be able to say.

And you know the saying here in the Sunshine State - "beautiful one day...perfect the next"

    Ray

  • Hi Ray

Congrats Ray on your purchase. When will the car be here in Brissy?? Great to see another K in QLD.

I missed you at the Cleveland show last w/end. Will catch up one day.

    Cheers

  • 5F09K745811 has arrived and cleared through Customs this morning.

Opened the container door and breathed a big sigh of relief to find it sitting upright...unloaded and found car to be dusty from the trip, but spectacular none the less.

Prior to release, Quarantine Officials requested the wheels and tyres be washed (???) prior to final inspection and passed accordingly.

Car is now on another truck heading to mechanic for Roadworthy Certificate and Dept of Transport LO2 compliance (headlight changes and lap/sash retractable seatbelts) prior to registration.

Can't wait to get it home so I can check over further...may even sleep in it that first night !

    Ray

  • Congrats Ray. Bet you can't wait to have a drive. Let me know what seat belts you put in your car and any modifications you make. I'm thinking of going down the lap sash route.

    Regards,

    René
