Just post pictures of your Kar(s)!
Hi, RHD when I got.
Here's my Kar...
Special note: I would not mimic any of these paint marks on your Kars, these are very specific to exactly what they were marking the week my car was produced at San Jose, this is very plant and time specific.

relicdog,
What is going on here with your engine?
What color is that? Sauterne Gold? I like it.
Thanks! It's prairie bronze. But it faded over the years and i agree, it looks goldish.
The pictures aren’t in the correct order, I have pictures of the entire
engine rebuild. I picked only a few
to post.
Picture#1 running motor on dyno
after complete an total motor rebuild
Picture#2 line honing main caps
Picture#3 had to bore 40 over due to
ring groove
Picture#4 block after boring
Picture#5 dynamically balancing motor
Picture#6 motor after assembly an
prep an painted by Maple Hill Restorations.
Just out of curiosity, why are we not using the SKRAP BOOK section for Kar pictures?

Interesting. When does an engine need this level of rebuild? I'm curious because I pulled my K-engine out but didn't go through this level of detail. Should I line hone the main caps and have my motor balanced?

Evan, At minimum a good balance job is a good idea. I do it on all of my engines as in over 50 years who can be absolutely sure what is original anymore. When in doubt, do more than needed. You really do not want to go through what Jason (MORSEL) is going through.

Evan,
I wanted the motor to look an run
great, I did a lot more than what
the pictures show, replaced everything internally even the crank
( got from Fred) it runs extremely
well, since I wanted to do it only once
I spared no expense, it was worth it.

Evan,
on the previous forum before the crash I wrote a 3 part story on the risks of buying kars at auction, an I’m
talking from experience because it
happened to me. The Kar I purchased at auction was advertised
as being totally rebuilt, motor, trans.
rearend, undercarriage etc. etc. it was totally false, so whenever I do
anything to the Kar I go all the way,
then I know it’s correct.

Hey Guys,
I no longer own these k codes, but with fond memories and lots of sweat equity passed them on to happy new owners...

Ivy Green HiPo Coupe
Purchased in Alabama'
Sold in Belgium
Both original K codes.
The left picture of the Fairlane was less than a month, after I bought it, in July of 67. The right, about a year later.
Got the Mustang in '69, is a 65 1/2, originally a lime type green, I mix the paint for this color, based on the Aquamarine Blue but, more green & black in it.
New to me, #'s matching motor and transmission, and I believe the rear end. Some work to do but the bones are there.
Great looking Kar, I like the color.
