  • Interest in Reviving a HIPO Registry?

    I plan to take this on next year and work on building the technical foundation for a registry. I fully agree with the points made regarding verification, and I will also reach out to Marv to discuss the possibilities. After that, we’ll see how things develop.

  • Interest in Reviving a HIPO Registry?

    I wanted to ask if there’s still interest in having a HIPO registry. Back in the day, it was a useful resource, but I’m not sure if the demand is still there like it used to be.

    Setting up and maintaining such a registry would take quite a lot of effort, and I’d only want to do it if there’s genuine need and benefit for the community.

    So my question: Would it make sense to bring this back, or has the need faded over time?

  • Update / Design

    Hello there,

    today, I installed a major update in order to keep the site up to date on security and functionality.

    Unfortunately, the forum design (amongst other things) was not compatible with the update and it broke.
    That's why it looks so different and that's why the banner is gone. Please give me a few days in order to find a design that might be similiar to the old one.

    Initially, the update was planned to take a few minutes, unfortunately I had to spend several hours fixing things.

    We did exactly what they did back then: Just mixed some leftover colors. Since nobody can really tell what the color should look like and nobody can tell me "that's a wrong color" the painter just did his thing :)

  • 5FO7K616536 - Underbody sealant

    Hello all,

    in the restoration process of my K-code we have arrived at the sealing of the underbody. Am I correct in assuming that on Dearborn cars this was black and a true "sealer" while on California cars it was just oxidized?

    While we're on the subject: Do you guys have any tips for the paint job? As I understand it, the cars were barely masked and they were painted through the windows, is that correct?
