Mad_goat67,
my pointing out your radiator was not meant to pick or discriminate against your Kar, that’s not my style,
I was just pointing out it may be a very sought after piece. Fred the administrator on this site is the knowledgeable one for parts on our Kars, hopefully he will touch on this subject.

Welcome to the site Mad-goat67
Your vin. stamped block indicates you Kar was built in Dearborn, however your radiator is Western Modine Y2, 11-64 these radiators were put in San Jose Kars, possibly early GT350’s if that’s correct this piece is rare an very valuable.

IMG_0042.jpegMy number two cap has letter B on it, hopefully Fred has the answer.
I’ve never seen an C-code or T-code 1966 Shelby or any year for that matter as MA states in his post. Was this guy joking or just confused.
What does the large R on the oil pan mating surface mean.
These incorrect or missing parts are
some of the basic parts that define an K-Code, these parts are very expensive to replace.

Nice looking Kar, can you post some pictures, would love to see more of the Kar.

Update on rear housing an 3rd member, in the process of putting it back together. The axle housing is in primer, ready for paint.
Beautiful Kar,
It looks like the clamp on the short leaf is on the wrong place, shouldn’t it be on other side of leaf spring plate.
According to the repo. door data tag
the Kar had scheduled build date of mid. June 65, were they installing 66 housings with the 65 style then, if so that would explain the oil deflector, but the third member that I posted had a casting date of 5b2 so it’s probably not original to the Kar, I’m confused on this one.
The housing is definitely an 65 style was the oil deflector an option back then, Fred could probably answer that, my opinion is no, it was probably added by a previous owner, like I said earlier the Kar was most likely used for drag strip, you sure wouldn’t want an open rear gear for that. I posted a long article in the old forum about this Kar at the time of purchase, I’ve rebuilt practically everything on this Kar, the third member is hopefully the last thing. A couple of pictures of the rear that came out of Kar, it’s definitely some sort of locker.

Evidently it’s signifies something at the Dearborn plant, inspector number like you mentioned, sure would like to know for sure.

After drawing an 6 an a 9 on a piece of paper, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s definitely an 6, my nine looks totally different than the number on the housing, but my six looks exactly like the number on the housing, Chuck is probably right, inspector number, why some housings have oil deflectors an some don’t is a mystery.

Looking at some old posts put up by
Fred, I ran across this housing with an L an the same oil deflector as mine, only differences is this one is an 66 an mine is an 65 with a 9

The data plate indicates a 3:50 open,
although I don’t believe it’s original to the Kar. It is a June built Dearborn Kar, the pinion support is 5B15 an the third member is 5B2 an I think it’s an Trac Loc Posi. so no way original to the Kar. When machinist was working on engine he thought the Kar was used for drag racing, it had triple valve springs an some other modifications according to him. This may account for the Trac-Loc, but the number 9 in the housing is still a mystery.

This is from a 65 fastback - 5F09K
After pulling 3rd member for rebuild,
this is what I found, number 9 not sure what the other piece is for.
Nice looking Kar, a set of duel redlines with that yellow would be outstanding.
