    If the VIN of the car above is 6T09K285286, then it confirms it is indeed the same car as you thought. Prior discussion on this "K" car.

    I was not aware of the prior listing on EBAY. The car mysteriously now has a different seller a new coat of gray primer and now has the manual choke hole in the firewall. Can anyone spell fraud and deception?.


    The Seller said he would send my Paypal payment for $1000 and wire the balance ($10,000) on Monday. If he does not I will go directly to General McMaster. http://www.scattorneygeneral.org/


    He hasn't returned my PayPal payment, which he should of done immediately. Guess theft will have to be added to the fraud charges.

    Sorry about your investment. Purchasing a classic K car should be a high spot, but this seller has been unscrupulous in his actions. Hope everything works out for you!

    Thanks for the vote of confidence. I will receive my money back on this transaction. I have given the Seller until 5PM tomorrow to make full restitution to myself and anyone else he has harmed (I know of at least one other person) with this deception.


    I build civil and criminal cases for a living and if this guy was smart, he would take IMMEDIATE Affirmative action to make full restitution to all harmed parties.


    But greed is the downfall of many!


    Your are right. Purchasing a HIPO should be a great experience. I was looking for a K code Fastback to put my NOS HIPO shortblock into. Now I am thinking about selling it. IF I do, I will either give the HIPO exchange members first shot at it, or give them a discount if I put it on EBAY.


    I saw the original listing in Atlanta and passed on it because it smelled. But the "new and improved K code Fastback" looked pretty good. I did not realize it was the same car.

    I am happy for you Darrell that you came out of this without a problem. You did gain some valuable experience. I would also encourage you to purchase Tonys book as a reference along with Bob Mannels excellent small block Ford book. They are worth every penny as references.

    The pictures in the auctions plus other pictures that I have speak volumes about this car. All of the points discussed on this forum are well documented in the pictures. We only call tham as we see them. A personal inspection was not necessary for our points of discussion.

  • As discussed above, Travis has been personally invited to tell us the true facts about this car, including the changes made to the car between the time the car was listed in Atlanta to the Relisting in South Carolina.


    If he indeed has nothing to hide, he should take this opportunity and accept the invitation.

  • I'd say the latest auction text has a glaring inaccuracy where the seller states "All metal and panels on the car are factory and are excellent."


    It's quite obvious that full floors have been installed. Battery apron has been replaced and the radiator support also possibly replaced. The most disturbing issue with the car (besides the VIN stamp) is the dash panel being out of a '65 car. Maybe this was done during a cowl repair? In one of the previous auctions, the correct 6T09K hidden VIN numbers appeared to be legit.


    The question as to why a coupe VIN was originally re-stamped into the inner fender begs an explanation.


    Unfortunately, there are more questions than answers with this car and the seller really needs to do a better job at describing what they have.
