This unique car hails from San Jose, Ca., where it was manufactured.

It was brought to the Chicago area about 4 years ago from San Jose.

Car has been stripped to bare metal and repainted the ford Candy Apple Red as it was originally!

    Bumpers and chrome are excellent.

    INTERIOR

New Carpet, new headliner, new seat covers. Nothing to do! The vehicle has front seat belts installed. It currently has a

AMfM cassette radio, the original am radio comes with the car. All windows and doors work as intended. New tinted windshield; wipers, heater all work, as do brake lights and turn signals.

    Tires & Wheels

Like new raised letter 215 x 60R x 14 radials! Comes mounted on Magnum 500 wheels.

    Mechanicals

First of all this is a non numbers matching K code.

    * It has a rebuilt period correct 289 block with K code heads, correct water pump and cover plate. It has a solid lifter cam and sounds awesome. Only 2000 miles on rebuild!

horsepower is at least the rated 271

    * Has a period correct 4 speed toploader transmission, clutch has been relaced at the time of the motor rebuild.

    * Has a period correct 9 inch ford 3:50 limited slip rear end

    * Has front disc brakes, and recent new front end rebuild.

This car has plenty of power and tourque! Drive it and you will want it. This car is very reliable, and a blast to drive with its power and torque. Stops great with front disc brakes, goes down the road straight.

Look at the pictures! This car is a keeper and priced competively. No disappointments. Great Investment!

Drive it , take care of it , you will realize a profit. Any questions email via ebay or call my cell anytime 815-530-9608 Jim Car can be viewed by appointment.

This K code is consistent with its data tag:

4 speed toploader, candyapple red, blk standard interior, 3:50 9 inch rear end, solid lifter engine.

This K code car has a clear Illinois title. Two sets of keys.

  • The Buy-It-Now was lowered to $18,600. The seller declined an offer of $18,000 for it so it did not sell.

  • I will give the seller credit for being reasonably honest in his descriptions. The average buyer would not notice that the rear end is not correct and he listed it as "period correct" which seems fine to me. He is not trying to misrepresent the Kar as numbers matching and trying to hide things like a lot of other sellers seem to do. It does look like a good solid Kar that would make a good platform to bring back to original specs.

  • The undercarriage pictures were taken in a muffler shop while he was having the exhaust system changed. There is a muffler stand in one of the pictures. The harmonic balancer appears to be a standard one and not a Hipo. It will also need a speedo cable as this one is burned up below the trans.

  • The small balancer, the fact that it has a" correct 289 block with correct hipo heads, solid lifters" leads me to believe it is a stock 289 with the hipo heads and solid lifters added, NOT a hipo engine. To me that is a huge difference . Real hipo engines are more than heads and lifters. my .02 cents worth.<img src=images/icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>
