This is a 1965 hipo 289 fastback. The car has been rebuilt about 10 years ago. The paint on the car is still very nice. The color is vintage burgundy and it has a white pony interior. It has a 8000 rpm rally pack. The 4 sp, has the original shifter. the car has a service replacement block with the heavy mains and the heads are correct hipo heads,it does have a new replacement distributor with dual points. The carb, is a new holley 600, it has tri y headers for the exhaust. the fan looks to be the right one for a hipo. The car looks to be a GT and it has this way for at least the last 20 years but do not know if it is factory.

    The door tag reads 63B-J-F5-10R-71-5-5.

  • The build date does not seem to go with the VIN and the door tag is a reproduction.

  • It is a good-looking car, too bad it wasn't restored faithfully. It's a nice driver and could be redone someday but obviously the dealer won't take what the car is worth in it's present configuration. Nor will he likely have to since someone will bid higher than what it's at now. Unfortunately, a proper restoration would cost so much it would price the car above market, considering what it's going to cost to buy it, to make it worthwhile. But maybe someone will do it anyway?
