My K fastback has what looks like two places that the choke cable could come out of the firewall.
Does anyone have photos of their firewall?
Also is there suppose to be a grommet where it exits the firewall?
Many thanks!

What year and plant?
Both of my 66 San Jose Kars have the hole almost directly behind the accelerator linkage. If you had the rod to the carburetor off and pivoted the linkage back to the firewall, it would almost hit the hole. There is no grommet as Ford just used caulking in the hole.

If you do decide to use a grommet, Mustang Barn has them.
The car was built in Feb 1965 at the San Jose plant.
I have that hole by the acc linkage but I also have one that is higher up.
Thanks for the help!

Generally if you have a hole above the choke cable hole it will be for the neutral safety switch wiring with an automatic trans. Being that you have a 65, the automatic trans is not possible so this may be a mystery hole. You can post a picture of your firewall on here and possibly get an answer.

I just took a look at my 66 K with a C4 and the choke cable comes thru a 3/4 inch dia hole with its center located 4 inches down from the firewall-cowl weld and about a 1/4 inch to the left of the left most firewall to shock tower brace (aka export) bolt hole. The cable for the back-up and AT neutral/park starting circuit is located above the connector for the engine gauge feed on the firewall.

OK not an easy area to get a picture of ... here is one (red arrow shows the entry point of the cable) of a spring 65 San Jose car
Hope it helps

Thanks for the photo speegle, that is where my cable comes out but the angle of the cable made me think that possibly this was not the right hole. The hole above it looks like it has been drilled instead of punched so maybe a previous owner had other ideas.
Thanks to all for your help!
