Hipo Fan Blade

Some blades I have seen have natural aluminum blades, most are completely painted black. What is deemed correct/are both correct/did they differ by plant/year? I believe the blade was made by Schwitzer Corp.

So is that what you think the "SC" stands for?

Only seen them all black.

I suspect that the bare aluminum version was cleaned up by someone prior to sale. Bob Mannel might know. What about Stant Cooling; were they around back then?

Yes, the fans were made by Schwitzer Corp and carry the SC marking. The fans were painted black. Aluminum never held the paint very well, so most fans will be missing most of it after 40+ years.

Has anybody seen a Hipo style fan blade with Schwitzer part number 911960 SC & date code without a Ford trademark stamp?

The EARLY reproductions - they show up on eBay once in a while - typically have a datecode from the '80s.

I've got one of the early reproductions that I purchased from Branda when they were first made available sometime in the early 80's on my kar, I'll try to remember to look and see what is stamped on it tomorrow...

I have a repro fan. The stamp on it is 911960 K85. No SC stamp. Assume it's a 1985 dated repro part. No Ford stamp either. The fan is 16 inches in diameter. Is it a Branda repro?
