Do 67 k code cars have the same 3 vin numbers on the inner fender aprons like the 65 and 66?

'67 and '68 generally have the VIN number stamped on the front aprons, not the rear like earlier cars.

Charles,
Are you saying that '67's only have two vin apron stampings; one stamping on the right front apron and one stamping for the left front apron? If so, where is the 3rd one on the 65/66's located?
Thanks,
Tom

I'm not saying "only". The '67's I have seen and owned have the VIN stamped on the front 2 inner fenders.
For 65/66, the driver side front was supposed to be stamped in the "visible" area and then the rear 2 inner fenders have the VIN stamped on them. There are plenty of 65/66 cars that do not follow this rule though.

Charles,
Assuming the Ford factory worker did they job correctly, what was the "correct" number of VIN stampings on '67 aprons from the factory; 2 or 3?
Thanks again!

I am in the process of buying a 67 GT350 and want to make sure what to look for.

41PAWS,
Here is a website that addresses VIN locations on '67 Shelby Mustangs. However, I do not know if the info is 100% correct. Perhaps Charles will chime in and give an opinion on the "correctness" and also address my last question posed to him.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your potential purchase. If you purchase the GT350, REMEMBER, we all love pictures!

I had a 67 Metuchen built C code coupe that had exposed VIN numbers on both left and right side front aprons.

Thank you Tom. What is your email address so I can email you some pics.

41GPAWS,
I sent you an email with my email address via this form. Please watch for it.
BTW, during lunch today, I went out and inspected my San Jose '67 KGT fastback's VINs. This is what I found. On the driver's side front apron there are two VIN stampings; one placed so it is visible in the fender cutout area, the other stamping was about 1" outboard (below, in other words) aligned, left to right, with the other VIN "above". This VIN would not be visible with the fender on the car. Directly across on the passenger side front apron there is one VIN stamping. Location would be identical to the second one described on the driver's side front apron; it also would be hidden by the fender. Hope my explanation makes sense to you. If you need photos to help clarify what I tried to communicate, let me know and I'll capture some images.
Hope this helps!

You may want to check to bottom of the transmission. My four speed GT 350 has the Ford vin stamped on it. I have seen the hand stamped Shelby vin that is located on the passenger side apron stamped different ways- straight or crooked or lightly stamped. Check out http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/1967GT350/?yguid=185466315 Many of the people on this site are also on this one. Good luck with your purchase. Monty

There really isn't a good spot to stamp a VIN on the rear inner fenders. I believe that Ford only intended to stamp the front two inner fenders on 67/8 cars, either 2 or 3 times.
