Mustangs Plus "K" day

  • Ron Bramlett would like to have a "K" day sometime in September. This would be for all cars that came from the factory equipped with the HiPo drive train. Mustangs, Fairlanes, etc. What do you folks think. How many of you would be able to attend. The tentative dates could be either September 15th or 22nd. Please feel free to voice your comments. The get together would be in Stockton,Ca.

  • That's a great idea! I've often daydreamed of having such a display on the East Coast, possibly at the Fords at Carlisle show. Having an example of every "K code" vehicle isn't an impossible dream, either. Just think of how cool it would be to see 63-64-65 Fairlanes, 64-65 Comets, 65-66-67 Mustangs, along with 289 Shelby Cobra's and 65-66- 67 GT-350's...WOW!

  • At last years show Ron did mention about having a K show and I still think it would be a great idea. Yes I would be interested in bring Poppy down for the show. Laki.

Their site doesn't have a show date yet. Does anyone have news on when it will be?

I spoke to Ron about this specifically at the Wild West Nationals show. It now sounds like he wants to start doing a 'featured model' at his two annual Mustangs Plus shows and the K model will be the first one featured at this October's show. He wants to set aside an area for the featured group to park as a single display, with special awards for the featured group.

Look for details as he starts promoting the October show. If we could get 8 (we had 8 at Concord and Ron didn't show his yellow K coupe, and Laki, Bill and Robert weren't there, either), it would make a great K-show!

  • Count me in! I had to miss the Concord show, but would definitely be able to drive down from Sac for the Mustang Plus show. Kevin

  • Here's a quote taken directly from 'Ron's News Bulletin' page, dated July 2007, this AM on the Mustangs Plus site :

    "K" Day at Mustangs Plus!

Calling all "K" codes! You are to report to Mustangs Plus on Saturday, October 20th, 2007 for the Mustangs Plus October Display! That is all.

It has been suggested to us by many people that we should highlight a special group of Mustangs at our April and October displays and we think that's a great idea! So we have decided that we'll have "K" Day here at Mustangs Plus on Saturday, October 20, 2007. Every "K" code car will receive a special award and will be displayed in a very prominent area. We'll also have some special awards for the "K" code cars in addition to the awards that will be given out to all of the other Mustangs and Fords that come to the display. It'll be a show you won't want to miss!

We'll have all the entry information for the October Display including "K" Day in our September 2007 issue of Restomod Magazine and on the Mustangs Plus website, http://www.mustangsplus.com, soon! Be sure to get your entry in early!

  • I spoke to Ron Bramlett this morning and everything is looking great for this fall's car display. It looks like we'll have a good showing of "K" cars. The MustangsPlus website will have the application available by Monday. Check out their website after this weekend. I've attached a preliminary design of the "K" T-shirt. This will be one show you don't want to miss. I look forward to seeing everyone and their "K" cars.

  • The registration form arrived in the mail this past weekend in the latest 'Restomod News', including a special category for Ks. The date is October 20th.

MP is now charging $25 for an entry, but that includes the usual lunch and the shirt. Pretty much in line with what you pay for most shows that don't provide food. Mailed mine this AM. See you all in October! <img src=images/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • Sounds like a great gathering of the "K"s. Bit of a long drive for me, but I sure would like to get one of those great looking T shirts for my collection.

  • I'd like to take a count of "K" code owners that will be attending the October show. We'd like to park all the "K" codes together, so knowing how many will be in attendance will help with that idea. Remember, All types of "K" codes are welcome. In addition, the event T-shirts will be available for sale for those of you who won't be able to attend due to distance. When they are ready, I'll make sure that the information is posted here and on the MustangsPlus website. You may e-mail me directly if you have additional questions.
