I have stored my car for 14 winters with the gas tank full and red Sta Bil added. I have never has a bad fuel related problem. My total storage period is around 5 months and I do not start the car at all during this time. I do change the oil and filter prior to the put away, add an additional 5 lbs of air to the tires and store the battery in my celler hooked up to a battery tender. Clean the car and put on the car cover and the car has done just fine for the short term storage.

His asking price is probably not far off the mark for the car as you describe it, you can never do better than a car that is rust free and complete. Very rare car that with the red/white combo would be stunning when completed. Having overseen the motor rebuild, paint etc would also give you a car that you are 100% knowledgable of and comfortable with as there is always a bit of the unknown when buying a car that others have completed. I have had the chance to go to BJ 4 years ago and the stuff you see on TV is pretty much a reflection of people with way too much money in hand and they have no problem spending it. 50k for that coupe was obviously a hell of a pay day for it's owner. There are actually some pretty reasonable deals on some decent cars tha earlier in the week that never make it onto TV prime time.

The Tachman restored my Rally Pac going on five years ago now. Fixed the tach which worked intermittently and did the quartz conversion on the clock, as well as doing the cosmetics. Great job, no functional issues with it since it was done and still looks great. No problem on my end recommending him.

I do only local shows with my car because that is what I do enjoy and have little to no interest in competing/showing at national Mustang shows, although like many others here I do enjoy checking out the highly detailed and correct cars. My car is also VIN stamped on the block and tranny and all of the core parts (heads, manifolds, distributor, fan, tagged carb, balancer etc) are 100% correct and dated to the car. I lose absolutley no sleep over having a repop air cleaner, valve covers, alternator or other small parts. To get my car up to national show standard would be money not well spent to my thinking as I am not looking for that level of detail.

I have had the Ignitor 1 in my car for over 10 years. Starts almost instantly and runs great with zero issues since installed. I was lucky enough to buy an extra new one cheap a few years back that I keep in the car just in case. With all of the bits and pieces I have put into the car over the las 14 years this was probably the best bang for the buck change that I made.

Beautiful cars all! The two coupes (I am a coupe guy!) look like beautiful cars and I was very surprised at the relatively low prices you got for what look like extremely nice, well done cars. Even in this poor economy, where I live both of these cars would have done a much better selling price than you were able to get. Around here 10k will still only get you a decent driver V8 coupe that would still need a lot of work to get to the level that these cars look to be at.

I too was wondering where that topic went. Agree 100% that of all the automotive boards out there, this should be one where that type of reaction should seldom or never be seen. Unlike many other automotive boards most of the posters here own the rare kar in question and are actually K code owners. Pretty much to everyones credit the exchanges that happen are great and the information passed on is very valuable and I have had many K Code questions answered and problems solved over the many years that I have been hanging out here. To correct a responce that may be incorrect is much different than openly bashing somone for sharing their opinon or experience. As far as Pony Carb's I have had nothing but 100% satisfaction with their work on my restored carb and the car runs great. When I did call them with a question on the set up, Jon himself answered the phione and answered my questition in 2 minutes so IMHO their customer service gets high marks also.
