  • Usually to the left of the solenoid, but has been found in other locations around the solenoid.

For your Dearborn car, the specific gravity would be written in, like 1.250 or 1.275, the date stamp would be of format "MAR 15, 1965". Inspector mark might be punched through the paper, hand-written or an ink stamp.

Here's a pic of an original decal from I believe a June '65 Dearborn car:

That info is fantastic, it so happens I have an old stamping set that I can use to make up the date and inspector marks.

    Thanks for the help

  • Good News......

NPD sells these already stamped with the info. you provide them - mainly your build date. You'll pay $4 for a blank one or $7 for one fully stamped (not hand written)and sent right to your address, and shipping is included! I had it in about a week and is a nice touch to my detailed engine bay. I did mine three years ago and it still looks great with no issues or yellowing.

    Best of luck......

Unfortunately the "filled out one" is correct IMHO for a much later Dearborn car. The style, method and even design of the decal differed between plants and year to year.

Just a heads up ;) they do not look anything like the one posted above (from an early Dearborn car)
