Thats not an exhaust hanger. It's a tie down bracket for shipping
-
The anchors are there.I don't know if they were plugged or not as the original owner installed his own seat belts.
-
There were 2 standard options that could be deleted on a 65 Mustang. The heater and the seat belts. One of my cars is a factory seat belt delete car.

Chris,
Short answer is yes I have pictures of the ones on my UNRESTORED 65's.Nether one has been touched. Both are gray.
-
Both of my Unrestored 65's with disks have grey body's on there original valves. This is consistent with every other low milage car that I have seen.
-
Bob,
I have some slightly better pictures ,but no great ones.I can email them to you if you like.
The date stamp on my Aug 64 coupe is located right next to the Autolite stamp. On my June 65 vert it is on the back of the case. The autolite stamp is on the bottom of the alternator when mounted on a V8 or top on a 6 banger.

Bob,
The alternators on all 3 of my unrestored 65's have there original alternators on them.On 2 of them you can still read the date stamps. All 3 had Auto light stamps. All 3 are unquestionably original to the cars.

There is no sign of there ever being a sticker like that on my original Firestone spare that still has the protectant on the white wall.I have a set of 5 from dealer stock that do have the sticker.None of the Low mileage cars that I have seen with all of there original there original tires still present have had the sticker on the spare.I also don't think that Firestone would have wasted the money putting the stickers on the tires shipped in bulk to Ford. Also in the 20+ years that I have done PDI's on new Fords I have never seen the manufacturers stickers on any spare.Only on the retail tires.
You might call Bob Perkins and get his opinion before making a repro of the sticker.I for one don't believe that they were on the originals and would probably make a not or deduction on the judging sheet for one.

If they were installed at the factory they should have the short stems installed. If they were dealer installed then they could have had any length installed.
The exception on factory installed is if it had a LA or Chicago DSO it would have had 5" long valve stems......Curb-feelers were the rage then.(just a joke)

I run Maxis load range E on my 44' trailer and Have not had any problems with them at all.Still running the original set from 2003 and have put at least 30,000 miles on them.

-
All 3 of my unrestored 65's have Autolite stamps on there alternators in black or dark blue ink.The amp rating is in red ink.On two of them you can still read the date stamps. One is Aug 64 the other is June 65.They are original to the cars.
