Hello,
I am looking to purchase the Fender Emblems for a 63/64 HIPO Fairlane. I have posted the same request on Fairlane Club site.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

Hey Phil, how you been? If I understand you correctly, you have one you would sell? If so, let me know how much. Email: gmcgowan5@cfl.rr.com

Much taller then then one used on the Mustang. This style will not fit on a mustang because it is too tall and will not seat flush due to the body sculpting.
I have a repop set from Dearborn classics for $35 if you want them until you find a real set.

Thanks Brian. I have a set of the plastic ones from Dearborn. I'm trying to get the original cast emblems.
Another and most obvious difference between the Fairlane and Mustang emblem is the fact that the Fairlane is one piece while the Mustang is two piece.
Thanks again for the help.

Gary, The emblem that you are seeking is a C3OZ 16098 A and is the High Performance backing plate only just as the Mustang C5ZZ 16228 B High Performance plate is. Both of them use the C3OZ 16228 B 289 emblem that fits over them. There has been a one piece reproduction of the Fairlane emblem for at least 20 years and it is incorrect as being one piece. I have had quite a few of the original 63/64 Hipo Fairlane emblems and they were always two piece.

Fred,
Thanks for that information. I have been looking for a one piece emblem thinking that was correct. Do you happen to have a picture of both pieces front and back?
Gary
Gary, The 289 emblem is the same as the 65/66 Mustang. The engineering number on the back side of the 63/64 Fairlane High Performance emblem is C3OB 16C236 A.

Thanks very much for this information Fred. So I should be looking for a C3OB 16C236 A emblem? If I could just find one of the back side emblems I would be able to use lost wax casting and create two identical ones.
With the information you gave me I will at least know what an original looks like. I saw one on ebay a year ago but it was one piece but cast from metal. Up and until now I thought that was an original one.
Thanks again for the valuable information.

Here's a few pics of the 63 and 64 K code Fairlane front fender showing the High Performance 289 ornament.

Thanks very much Gene for the outstanding pictures. Especially the one of the backing plate. Thanks to you and Fred I know exactly what I'm looking for.
I would also like to add, those are some beautiful examples of the first K codes.
