thinking of trading

  • I'm thinking of trading my '66 GT-350 for a '66 K code fastback of similar quality, if there is such a thing.

What dollar or percentage price differential should (or would) there be, all other things equal?

The GT-350 in question is unrestored, but mechanically maintained. All Shelby pieces intact, but the K code specific fuel & water pumps have been replaced at some point along the way.

  • I think a 1:1 match in condition/quality would be tough to find. If all things are otherwise equal, I'd say you're probably looking at a $50-75k difference in value... obviously you know which way that goes! <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

    Ray, how about a 70 boss 302.

no doubt a more advanced car, but that body style is not my weakness (yet).

    thanks,

  • What about a 1965 Black exterior, black deluxe interior K code 4 speed fastback with original drivetrain, tranny and rearend. All has been rebuilt. I assume it is an original GT as it had the correct stamped fog light holes, wiring harness when I bought it.

The car is currently undergoing a full restoration with all NOS sheetmetal when replaced. What would be the price difference for that?

    Thanks, Wallace

Why? Just a hankerin' for something different?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

more or less, yes. There are several cars I'd like to own (again) before I get too ancient to enjoy them. Selling or trading off the GT-350 would free up some $$$ to pursue them.

Mainly ones I had in the '60's & early '70's: an early '60's XKE, a Triumph TR-4a, '64 Galaxie, K code fastback, etc.

  • Ah, I like your diversity. Really good British cars from the '60s are climbing like crazy. I also own a '72 Lotus Elan Sprint. Owned by me for 32 years. I enjoy both my '66 Mustang and Lotus equally.

    Good luck!

  • Had many Loti, [ see the book on the 7 ] only one Elan S2 '65. But these Fords are the heart of the performance revolution at Ford. Now Ford enthusiasts have just produced the new four cam five oh, and the engineers are passionate about this motor. With good reason...what began with the HiPo 289 continues with this new V-8....!!!<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

    Z.Ray,

Was going to drive it. It has been a 7 year dream of mine which I almost gave up twice. But I have always wanted a Shelby.
