Barrett Jackson 65 GT K Kode Convertible

  • The Kar has a high profile rather than the correct low profile Rally Pak. The color combination should bring some strong bids.

  • It has a real low lot number. It looks like it will be going over the block on Tuesday late afternoon. Not a great auction time if your looking for deep pockets (like Fri-Sat). I don't see it breaking the bank. It could be a good opportunity for the right buyer.

  • Isn't that the car that has been on eBay so many times. He had pictures of the undercarriage and it looked like the car had been re-bodied. That is not a fact and it could be a different car, but does anybody else remember that?

  • You are thinking of the black car in Las Vegas. It was discussed here several times last year and also back in January. That vin was 5F08K673603.

I don't this this is the same car.

  • That buyer fee in crazy. The seller fee is 8% He could have sold that car prior to auction for 62k minus 8% for sure. Pretty car with very nice color combo. Seemed pretty correct too. Not going to win a gold concourse but a very nice car. But that is with just with seeing pictures. Cars always turn out to be different when you see them in person. But bringing 62k at Barrett, I would say it's worth it taking all fees out of it. Don't forget you have to pay Arizona Tax too. That's bull because here in kentucky all classic cars with antique plates are valued at $100. Pay tax on that and it's $6. Compared to 6% on $62,000 and then 10% buyer fee. That's way too much.

  • A couple of us who frequent the site checked this car out before if went on the block. The paint and interior work was well done. The car was originally yellow over black (pony interior) per the owner, but it had a new door tag. It appeared that three of the four quarters had been replaced, but the body work was well done. It had a 66 9", and the carb did not appear to be correct. The blocking plates were in place in the rear frame rails. The detailing on the underside was just ok. It was too dark to see if the vin was on the block, but we assumed it was there.

There was a lot of activity around the car in the inspection area. One of the potential buyers checking out the car said he was one of the previous owners and wanted to buy it back. That may have contributed to the high price.
