MPC is showing them as muffler-only replacements for 65-66 dual exhaust (GT style).

Charles, thanks for the info, the muffler main bodys are completely round , measure 11 inches long at the main body and 4 inches in diameter , they are strait through with (C4RA-5230-A) casting, would these be an arvinode replacement muffler, chuck.

School is now in session. <img src=images/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> The actual application for this muffler is somewhat obscure and one needs to really carefully read the Ford MPC to fully grasp what it says. This is a muffler for the Ford factory available dual exhaust kit with a part number of C5ZZ 5210 A. This kit consisted of pipes and these mufflers to convert Mustangs with single exhaust to dual exhaust. This was never a factory installed system and it was only available over the parts counter. These mufflers were available for quite a while through the Ford parts system and were easily confused as being replacements for factory installed dual exhaust. You needed to look at the physical description that gives measurements to really see what you were getting. I myself made the mistake of ordering these as replacements for the factory installed systems back in the day. It wasn't until I received them that I looked up the physical description to see what I had done wrong. That was when I checked the foot notes on the page that said that this was part of the dual exhaust kit. There are a number of these mufflers floating around these days and I have several of them myself.

Fred thanks for the education its always fun attending one of your mustang K code classes , i now have two of the mufflers in question , regards Chuck.

I also saw a post from some guy that put one of these on his Falcon. He said "it's really loud now". It must of been some performance type of muffler.

Because they are round I have seen several of these described on ebay as correct for 65 GT350's with factory side exhaust which is incorrect since they came with glasspacks.
