is that decal an original?
-
Originals that I've seen have the engineering number in small characters just under the last "E" in the word PERFORMANCE. That picture is hard to resolve on my monitor, but an engineering number doesn't seem to be visible in the picture. (It is a nice example of the early style air cleaner lid, however)...There is an interesting discussion on the HiPo air cleaner decals HERE.

I have compaired a run-of-the-mill reproduction sticker to a known original (not real well, mind you) but one thing I did notice was the original was much more Red colored than the orangish repro....
Are Jim's repros closer to the correct Red??
-
The originals I've seen were paper. They are not made like the plastic ones that are reproduced. The repops do appear pretty nice and are not pricey. How are the ones Jim makes made and what kind of money are they?

I think someone on the linked thread mentioned $8 for Jim's repro-I think I'm going to order one....anything I've seen done by Jim is top notch.

Apologies in advance for my ignorance: Jim Who?

I went back and read the discussion from the link supplied above. It answered my question: Jim Cowles, yes?
And the link: http://shelbyparts.com
Thanks for the info!

If I am not mistaken, National Parts Depot has a correct reproduction of this part. I havent looked closely at this.
