I bought some front bumper parts and with them came this bracket - see photos below. Initially I thought it was junk, but then I noticed the Ford date code on it.
I cannot see where it goes on a '65 Mustang. Any ideas?

I don't recognize it, but it was definitely stamped in Dearborn, Michigan on 2nd shift.
It appears to be a front valance brace, two of which are used on 69/70 Mustangs. Not totally sure because I can't make out a side view profile which incorporates a couple of 'steps' and a bit of a curve.
I agree with Charlie on his observations.

Its the same front bumper bracket as on my 70 boss
Thanks for the info. The bracket does have a step on either end, so it's a 69/70 Mustang part and not for a 65 so no good to me. If anyone needs it or the date coded bumper brackets that came with it then just let me know.
