Ohm meter. From the wire at the F on the Alt to the Field terminal of the regulator. Should be labeled on the reg.

Still open for online bidding. Only made it to $18,750.

289's weren't out yet, so I'd say it's a 221/260 flywheel from a Fairlane/Falcon. December 6, 1962

I don't recognize it, but it was definitely stamped in Dearborn, Michigan on 2nd shift.

Dunc, I saw this past Sunday a car that must have been a close match in date to the gold one.
66 K-GT Convert, auto, bench seat. Real deal. I only had a chance to very briefly see it, and didn't get to talk to the owner. But would have liked to get more info.
-
As in installed or NOS service part. I have 2 rear NOS in the box units that my Dad told me were K shocks. You have an OEM number? I can check the boxes.

The guy that put the quarters on is a "pro" so to speak. He has done a bunch of first gen Mustangs and has a jig he made just for these cars. It was properly done with the correct seams and filler. Many local experts have been all ovder it, and one guy was amazed when I told him the qtrs. were replaced. He was telling someone that it still had the original qtrs. until I corrected him.
The thing that impressed be the most is the way the seam is at the rocker. I walk the Mustang shows and so many cars don't have that seem. For whatever reason many people fill that in?
I really wish he WOULD NOT have lost the camera with all the step by step pics! Supplied him with a camera to take pics along the way, which he did. Went to get the film...one of his "helpers" put the roll in with about 500 other in a file cabinet draw
To be honest, I have totally lost interest in the Kar. It is not getting justice sitting around, be better served with someone that enjoys 40 year old Kars. 40 miles on it last year and 100 the summer before. I just prefer messing with the 2005+ cars and driving them more.

Ford Power Parts Intake, casted by Edelbrock I believe. May be wrong about that. If anyone knows what it is, Moneymaker should. I am sure Alex probably used one at some time in his racing.
That intake was originally produced for putting 351W heads on 289/302 blocks. Measure the ports sizes, they should be Windsor size.
That intake was also used on the actual 1979 Mustang Pace car at Indy. The engine was built by Roush.

I have been debating on getting back to original appearing.
I think next month the cast iron intake and concours restored 4100 will go back on. As well as the replated valve covers and stock hood.
I won't put redlines back on it, won't get my money back on those.
Thanks for the compliment Tony. I COMPLETELY understand someone having their mind focused. There's a butt for every seat, and someone will be sitting in mine soon. Your Kar is out there somewhere, it just needs to surface.
For other potential interested parties: As far as I know, the only thing not original sheetmetal on mine is the rear qtrs. But those are NOS Ford.
Don't know how many K's are running around with NOS pistons and rods in them LOL.
-
Good Luck Tony, sounds like you want a needle in a haystack LOL. I was happy to just have NOS quarters put on properly.
I won't be taking the fleabay route. Going to start advertising the old fashion way.

My Dad must have told me 1000 times the story of this exhaust system and how his buddy in high school came by with a brand new 65 fastback to pick him up for school one day. He said there's never been anything that sounded like that to him.
Now I know what all his fuss was about. If it sounds that good on Youtube, I can imagine in person must be sweet!

Pics can be seen here: http://www.bluecollarperformance.com/66stang.html
You can reach me through that website, call toll free or e-mail. I'll e-mail you the listing of parts that come with it and all the details.

Duncan, I am so sorry you didn't get to complete this car. You had a passion for it everytime we spoke over the last few years.
Good Luck to you in the future

When you lower effective compression ratio you lower power across the whole range by lower cylinder pressure. Now this is given no other changes take place, like a camshaft or forced induction.
The combination of parts: Mainly the cam, but the heads, intake, exhaust, even connecting rod length, etc., determine the location of peak HP and Torque.

There's my first problem...racing background. SO VERY competitive by nature.
My first time down the track in my Kar fall of 2005 was against a co-worker with a white 87 GT with a red stripe. How cool huh?
But I drove it like I did at Super Ford in 1990, not like it was a fresh resto. Left hard, beat it hard, and ran 14.9.
Not to shabby for standard bore, stock cam, manifolds, points, and the tri-power. I think it would 14.5 now, but I'll never find out.
I was truly let down by not being able to make Carlisle in 2006. Things have changed in my life...desires, interests, goals and most of all...household income. 50% down, so things have changed.
-
That's better, thanks for the pic.
Can't say as I blame people for backing off on the racing of their K's.
I'm done too. Now that my Dad sold all his spare parts I don't need to window a block, especially before I officially put it on the market for sale.
