Certified: for racing use (so they stay together).
Flexplate: (also called a flywheel by Ford) for automatic transmissions.

The backup light switch and speedometer cables are different. You may also have a problem with the speedometer gear inside the transmission.
Jim
i've decided to buy a
new flywheel pressure plate and water pump
with ones should i get from npd or M unlim?
thanks

It's been a while, but I got "new" a pressure plate from one of the sources you mentioned, it chattered and needed to be rebuilt. I'm not being negative, just wary.
My water pumps had no problems from those same sources although I would recomend you check your local auto parts store for one, just check first.
Jim
I was told a long time ago that if you wanted a clutch that didn't chatter, buy a Ford clutch and pressure plate. I've always done that and have never had a problem. The Ford re-manufactured ones come up for sale on ebay once in a while. Fred Ballard may have some in his stock that he'd be willing to part with.
i'll give him a try
thanks
If you don't mind not having a Ford clutch I would recommend a Centerforce. A stronger setup IMO with less pedal pressure. Don't think I'll ever use anything else.
Ditto. My Centerforce has been great behind my 330 torque hipo.
could you provide a link
so i could check these out?
thanks

Are you using sand to clean the car? You're going to get some major etching of the surface if so. You might consider something not quite as harsh such as starblast.

I've used both the Centerforce Dual friction, and the Centerforce 1. For a stock Hi-Po engine the Centerforce 1 is plenty of clutch.

Hi Dave!! I BELIEVE that the C995 is your car's rotation number on the line, the 63A is for Fastback body with standard interior, R I think is your paint code-Ivy Green??, the 26 is for your Black standard interior, and the "BL" we believe is for "backup lights"-is there anything on the oposite side?? My 7/65 Dearborn Konvertible had "HP", and because mine is a GT it had "GT" as well.
Hope all is going well, you are one hell of a man to take on a project as rough as your car is, believe it or not mine was MUCH WORSE. (Don't forget about checking in once in a while over at the Ford truck site!!-Rick
