65/early 66 GT350 Brake Backing Plates

  • I have a gorgeous restored pair of the 49294/5 Fomoco /Kelsey Hayes backing plates for the 2 1/2 inch drums. These plates came out of the dry Soutwest Arizona desert and had no problems. They have been hot tanked. glass beaded with fine beads, epoxy primered, fine paper water sanded, epoxy primer sealed and finish dip painted in black enamel. They almost look too good. If you want a gorgeous pair of backing plates these are that pair! $500 plus shipping . Probably $15 max!

Jim when I think of a gorgeous pair I don't think of backing plates.

    Good luck on your sale.

  • back to the topic, I wish I could have one of everything that Jim has restored. His pieces are just plain beautiful. I do have a T-10 shifter that he did for me several years ago. I have it bolted in place on the restored, and mothballed, T-10 transmission. It calls to me to row the gears every time I pass by it.
