Anybody here think there were any factory GTs with 3 speeds in 1965? Anybody ever seen one? Non-K code, of course...
Factory GT with a 3 speed

I know there were in 66, my brother had one. I imagine 65 was the same.
-
The 3speed manual was standard equipment on C and A codes, no matter the options. Seen plenty of factory GT 3 speeds (non-K... of course )

Yea, I have an original window sticker for one, and I thought it was a bit strange to be ordered that way.

I agree that the 3sp manual was the std option for non-K 289s. Seen several in C codes, and in 2 known factory GT cars.

Sold a 65 GT coupe last year with 3 speed & bench seat & tinted glass.

My family had two. #1 was a 65 GT, Twilight Turquise w/ two tone deluxe interior, no other options. #2 was a 66 High Country Special, GT, Yellow w/ black standard interior, no other options.

I agree that there were indeed factory 3-speed GT's in 65. You would have to pay additional money to buy the 4-speed on a non k car. Although not many purchasers would choose a 3-speed manual in a GT, I have seen several original GT cars that were so equipped.

My Dad bought a new '66 Ivy Green GT for me with Pony interior when I was in college. It had the 3-speed. I wanted a 4-speed but insurance cost were higher. Just my 2 cents.
