THIS 1965 HI-PO 271 HP "K" CODE MUSTANG UNIQUE FEATURES:

The HiPo came with ordinary cast iron 4V intake, an Autolite carb, stamped steel valve covers, and standard 289 oil pan without a windage tray. Spring cups in the heads, the screw-in studes, open-element air filter, and swept exhaust manifolds

The HiPo block is an ordinary 289 block, only the caps make it a HiPo. The caps were beefier then the standard caps.

    Thick harmonic balancer

Front bobweight - the HiPo used a timing chain with a unique thin lower sprocket to provide room for the bobweight.

HiPo heads have screw-in studs. Ford used 'close-tolerance slots" in the head castings to guide the pushrods. HiPo heads only unique feature - the "cup" that holds the valve spring

This Mustang is a good driver as it is... It does need some sheet metal work done to the undercarriage floor board driver side. Frame rails, engine compartment and trunk are in good condition. Motor is in good condition and engine runs extremely strong. Engine has been tuned with new plugs, oil change, filter, etc. All lights and instruments work on the car. The shifter on the car needs attention, however the car shifts through the gears nicely. The carpet needs to be replaced. The headliner has two small holes under each visor. The driver seat needs to be re-stitched. The car interior is very clean. The paint has several bubbles coming through around and near the rear vents. Car needs to be restored. There is a small area on the passenger door where a minor amount of glass was used, other then that the car is smooth and not wavy. Engine and engine compartment is great for the mileage and original to the car. Metal is in good condition, windows and glass in good condition, vents work fine, rear seat folds down perfectly and the trunk passageway to interior is in tack and working fine.

Car includes new Cragar SS Wheels and B. F. Goodrick TA Radial Tires with transferrable warranty. Also includes original steel styled wheels and older tires.
