    Now there's a project.One wonders why someone hasn't done something to this rare of a car before it got to this stage.

  • The $6,599 bid was on the first time around on Ebay. The seller had a Buy-It-Now of $8,800 and most likely the seller thought that they could get close to that for the car. Being as the $6,599 bid did not meet the reserve, neither the seller nor the buyer are obligated to complete the deal. The seller most likely still thought that they could get more so they probably did not offer the high bidder a second chance offer and just relisted it with a lower Buy-It-Now or make offer auction. It is also possible that the high bidder thought better of his bid and was relieved to have not met the reserve.
