• Does anyone else think that data plate pictured is a little too perfect?

Decoding the numbers on it indicate a convertable with a standard interior scheduled for the first week of February. Probably not an authentic GT either.

I love the username. Is that Germanish?

BTW, los gatos means "The Cats" or probably more apropos "The Jacks" (car type jacks)

  • It's a repro plate, but at least it's a nice one. Obviously the GT package and deluxe interior were added as both items were not available when the car was made. Overall, looks like a really nice car. I suspect the color might be the midnight turquoise T-bird color.

  • Autohause Los Gatos is a dealership in Campbell, near Los Gatos that sells mostly German cars. I am curious where they got the K conv. from, as it only a few miles from me. I have asked a couple questions online thru ebay, but no answer. I plan to go take a look this week.

  • It's a nice-looking car in the pictures, just not a genuine "numbers matching" convertible. That sure looks like an aluminum high riser under the carburetor. Wonder what it drives like

  • Also listed for sale on craigslist

    Listing Info:

THERE IS NOT A BETTER ONE---OUT OF THE BEST FORD COLLECTION IN NO. • You would think for that price it would have the correct type rubber-backed trunk mat instead of a cheap cloth-backed repro. Makes you wonder what other shortcuts might have been made.

Did anyone notice that they used a '66 engine wiring harness? The car was built around Feb '65 so it would have the 2 speed heater switch with 3 wire motor. You can see the heater motor wires not plugged in and a hint of the yellow wire used on later '65 and '66.

The car is probably worth close to the asking price, but it would take a lot of work to detail it for show (if you wanted to do that). There are most definitely better ones, contrary to the sellers statement.

Not sure if them adding the GT package and pony interior would detract from the value or not. The overall appearance is very nice.

  • Didn't meet reserve, stalling out at $38,099. As a '65 konvertible owner, I was a bit dissapointed that the bids didn't get into the $40K range. I suppose listing a week before the B-J auction gets everyone's adrenaline rushing wasn't too clever.

  • I snuck a peek at this car last week. Nice car. I could read the last 3 numbers on the stamped block from above and they didn't appear to match the vin on fender. The new owner (dealership) was told it was matching numbers.

I believe the pony interior and GT also added. All in all, a nice K conv., not 100% Korrect, but still a nice car.

Pony interior and GT most definitely have been added, the scheduled build date is too early for either.

Very nice car, but they didn't have to add pony or GT stuff to it. It would have been a perfectly nice car without that.

  • I have personally done business with these guys in the past..They are swindlers and nothing but Sleezy used car salesmen!! I wouldnt buy a friggin matchbox car from these guys! They lie lie lie...I wouldnt be surprised if the car was a total fake all together.I can't believe they are still in business..Alot of thier customers are clueless..The dealership is located in Los Gatos,Ca. where some of the wealthiest people in Northern Ca,live...BEWARE

Re-listed for the 3rd time. Got up to $43k last time, and reserve not met. I'd think there's not going to be that much more interest in it the 3rd time.

That's right, Charles. Bidding stalled out at only $35,000 this time, with fewer bidders involved. The auction has been cancelled because "The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale".
