I wonder why a carb for a 4 speed HiPo car required a dash pot. NOS ?
Dang! That has to be an all time high for a hi-po carb. Wonder what the NOS '65 I have is worth?
I also wonder about the dashpot......are "we" sure its for a 4 speed car? are we reasonably sure it IS NOS?
If it is a NOS part, the daspot may have been added to the item so it could be used as a replacement for AT cars also. I remember reading somewhere that dashpots were a "fix" for stalling used on carburetors on any MT V8 car. Don't remember if it was for 64-66 though.

Makes sense.
Someone had a real need!
It's interesting to have clear images of a NOS 4100 to compare to other carbs that are being restored by Pony, etc. The gold dichromate is shinier and lighter in color than most of the commerically resotred carbs.
I've got an NOS '66 4100 carb that I've compared to the one that sold on E-bay yesterday. A few similar details on NOS carbs: There are red marks (like nail polish)accross both jets and also a red mark about an inch long in the crease rising to the air cleaner. There are also some crayon marks on the sides. The one on Ebay showed on black vertical line, mine is drawn in red and mine also has a red "P" drawn on the opposite side...also in thin crayon. I could poossbily take some photos if there is any interest.
Considering Pony wants $1200 or more for a HiPo core and resto (if he has one - and this is what mine cost about 5 years ago) - the eBay price is not that bad all things considered!
