Snubber bracket and bumper

  • Did anyone else notice this? I could have sworn the minimum bid started at $199, then changed to $249, now it's $349. The revision history shows two changes to the min bid amount. Anyone interested at $499?

This snubber is also the correct one for 65-66 Shelby Mustangs, so if yours is missing here is your chance to get it. I have been building Mustang 9 " rear ends for 10 years and know this to be the correct part for this application. The condition of this part is excellent, The bracket has been cleaned and painted with light grey primer. The rubber bumper is part # C3AA-4906-C, it has only been cleaned. I did not paint it or plastic coat it, so it is in good natural rubber condition, smooth with light wear on the tip.

link

  • This kind of non-sense BS of selling little pieces at stupid prices is going to make people start parting cars out instead of selling them whole

Heck, I might just go grab a case of rice, hops, wheat & barely and break out with the air tools. I could make $50k in a night parting the car out. Sad state of affairs we are living in these days

  • I've seen this approach happen several times recently, wonder if it's the same seller? Plus he says this snubber is for 65-66. This looks like a 65 bracket to me, 66 brackets are a little different.

  • Seller also is charging over twice what it would cost to ship this. I plugged in my zipcode in the shipping calculator and it came up over $20. I'm half tempted to report it...

How much are they really worth now, guys?

Based on previous eBay sales we've seen, somewhere between $80 to around $180, depending on whether it's a complete assembly or just the bracket.

The later styles (B2,BB) having been going for around $75-100.

The one in this post I believe sold for around $150. It is the later style (symetrical) as mentioned above.

I have one of each shape that came on the 65 rear and 66 pumkin I obtained. Both are 2 5/8" and squared off on the sides. I don't know if the slight change was based on the year, plant, supplier or some other factor.

Based on the prices above, the initial starting bid was within reason. Ebay is a funny place, but I'd be surprised to see it go for much over $250 unless a parts broker gets involved or Shelby guys start a bidding war.

Here's another post in the research section about them.

  • Seller increased the min. bid amount to $369 now. Why continue to increase the minium bid. Why not start low and have people bid it up? If you're worried about getting a certain price, use a reserve.

Could the seller be testing the market?

These snubbers came only on cars equipt with 9" rear ends and only for one year 1966. The bracket is slightly different than the 65 that is that it has a curve on the right side that the 65 does not.
