When replacing a fuel filler pipe, is sealant required in addition to the cork gasket that goes between body and filler flange? Any help much appreciated. Phil.

Consider using two of the cork gaskets that go between the filler pipe flange and the body. This give a bit more clearance between the gas cap and the body thereby reducing the chance of scratching the body when the cap is removed.

you may want to paint those gaskets body color too. that part of the gasket you can see looks like a big rust spot.

Usually the only time you need to use 2 gaskets is when the panel has had body work and the edge filled in.

Painting the gaskets won't pass judging. The use of two keeps the gas cap away from the body, a simple preventative measure. It's the 'KISS' method.
