Dearborn Radiator ID???

  • OK, What about the ones the Mustang parts vendors carry?? what I'm seeing in pictures sure look close to the Dearborn units, with of course the provisions for the auto trans cooling lines.

    Do these vary from vendor to vendor? any of them carry anything better than I'm seeing??

  • I am under the same impression about the cooling lines.

    Other than that and the fact that the aftermarket units obviously have no date codes or part numbers on them will one of these pass for concours judging?

  • I am not giving up, just weighing my options, obviously no one here has one that they want to sell, and I have no idea at this point what used Mustang parts dealers to call & ask...

    Finding the parts needed to do a quality and authentic restoration is what makes the hobby interesting as well as challenging. Swap meets are the traditional place to look, along with Hemming's Motor News. The ever-popular eBay is resource with a search engine that works well. There are plenty of "Mustang restoration specialists" who advertise in the usual places. Some of them also sell parts to help supplement their income. You might also try contacting radiator shops to see if they can help you.

  • Lots of good information here. After reading this topic I am a bit confused as to a radiator I have. It has the round tabs on the top, with a plate soldered on one of the tabs. It reads C4ZE-M2 . There is no stamping in the top of the tank. There are no stampings in the side flanges either. So, is this a Dearborn-Metuchen or San Hose radiator?

    Sounds like a Ford service replacement part.

  • I have found a few radiators that look right to me but have different part numbers on them, can anyone tell me what I'm looking at possibly.

    C4ZE-8005
    <hr class="bbcode_rule" />
    C4DE-8005
    <hr class="bbcode_rule" />
    C3DI-9005 Thanks for any help.

  • I have spoken to my contact where these radiators are and he can find no "Y1" "M" or any other letter after the part numbers I listed above.....I'm thinking that the C4ZE is right, and am not real sure about the C4DE one, and the C3DI is most likely a correct size from a 1963 Falcon V8 with manual transmission, one of the C4DE units is slightly larger than the other.....wonder why this is when they both have the same part number......
