socal engine builders

hi all, anyone have a recent experience with an engine builder in the southern calif area. i want a new motor built for my 66. new block with aluminum heads. any suggestions?

Bill, you might try Valley Head Service in Northridge. They were good enough to do Shelbys heads back in the 60's. Larry Ofria is still in business there and I have run his shop before a number of years ago. His number is 818-993-7000.

Ditto Valley Head Service. There is also Marvin McAfee, MCE Inc., who is frequently featured in Mustang Monthly (I think he's in this issue).

There is Cobra/Shelby legend Dave Dralle, who moved from Torrance to the high desert, Mojave, I think. Still builds the big buck engines.<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
