What do you use to get that alternator belt nice and tight. That big ALT pulley makes it hard to get enough leverage to get it nice and tight. Every time a i fire the motor up cold, I get that annoying squeak. Any help? Thanks.

I dont have a favorite. I like the fact the seller spent the time to photo everything that would verify everything is original to the car. A one of a kind find. I believe he could have received more for this car if he spent the time.

You are right. Nice photos and a sweet car. I hope the new owner treats it right.

bought new repop from virgina mustang. hopefully this solve the problem.

Being unsure of what is says in the ford maintance manual. I believe it is not a factor. The spring holds it in place and the fingers hold on to the throw-out bearing. when the fork is attached to the bell housing you cannot see the spring, so you cannot really verify anything other than it is attached. my two cents.

its chrome. but it worked leak free for years. i guess i will need to invest in a new one.

laser cut? if you said that in 1966, they would have said you saw Star Trek the other night.
stamped out i would imagine.
As far as the torques go, no shop manual with me right now. I am sure someone will chime in with that info for you soon.

sand the starter and the backing plate hole down. a little elbow grease and patience should do the trick. this is what i would try first.

Hello, I am battling a leak on my water neck housing. I have replaced the gasket several times with the same results. The leak is on the bottom portion of the water neck and the water/coolant pools in the valleys of the front timing cover. No leak from the timing cover. Any suggestions? The surfaces of the intake and water neck appear to be fine, no waves or anything. I am going to buy a new water neck and try this next, but would like to get some input before I start. Thanks.

That is correct, he should have said '100%'.

I'm 99% sure you can buy a little adaptor that bolts to the block (for using the pivot stud) from the major mustang supply houses

+1 on the repop cobra intake. it has the right looks and does a good job. i have mine ported and polished. i have also notched the dual plane. all this has been done one at a time to see performance gains. play around with one. very nice intake IMO.

One key point to installing a hydrualic clutch on your car. You will have to drill a least two holes in your firewall to mount the clutch master cylinder. I am sure there different types and applications, but the ones i am most familiar with have the master cylinder right below the brake cylinder. If you are against drilling holes in mustangs, this alone may help make your final decision.

put the old in a box and place it on the shelf. a new set of APR bolts will keep you sleeping well at night.

my suggestion is stay away from the 17 inch wheels. they look bad IMO on any early mustangs. go with 16's if you have to. just my .02. i bet most guys here will say the same thing.
