Brake Proportioning Valve

  • `65 FB, 271hp/289, GT, 4spd, with factory manual front disc brakes.

Prop valve shows signs of a very old seeping leak and owner says rear drum brakes don't seem to work as well as they should. Of course I wasn't told this until I had the car all apart.....<img src=images/icon_smile_8ball.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'm replacing the master cyl. (yet to find one) and all the brake lines. I have a mas/cyl on order and hope it's the correct one when it comes in tomorrow.

Can any of you give me a lead on finding a correct, new/rebuilt prop valve for this car? TIA

  • I would try the K.A.R. web site. They might have one. If not, if you call and ask for Kevin Roberts he would probably know where to get one.

I would try Jim Cowles @ http://www.shelbyparts.com/index.html first. He has restored a couple of the prop valves for me and although it takes a while, his workmanship is first class.
