Thanks CT, my boot has 4 screws. I'll go at it from the top, looks like there's a wire for the backup light switch that needs unpluged also.

Need to pull the 4spd from a car with a floor console. I suppose taking the seats out to remove the console is the best way to get to the shifter. What will I find once I get the shifter boot out of the way? How does the shifter come off so to lower the tranny? Thanks.
I see, both. Got it.
Thanks Again
Is it a hole or a slot?
I'm trying to get a good clutch pedal in a `65. The pedal seems fine except for not coming all the way back up to the top. Stops about 2" inches short. I can lift up on it with my foot and it comes right up. This car has the wrong return spring set up I think.
What is the correct return spring and where should it hook to the car from the clutch fork? Pictures? Is this the only spring besides the one under the dash? TIA

65 K Code FB
Could someone please tell me what's the correct finish for the clutch z-bar? TIA

That's what I have to think......<img src=images/icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
Still not 100% positive that this early car may be correct this way??
Hmmmmm....

These rears don't have the cable or horseshoe, none of it. Has a different spring down at the adjuster which of course can be adjusted with the tool through the backing plate. Could this be correct???
65 K Code - Did these cars have self-adjusting rear drum brakes?
While at the Knott's Berry Farm Show a couple weeks ago I noticed a 65 K Code FB that had the harmonic balancer painted a cast iron color instead of black. This car belongs to one of the MCA Judges that lives out here. He swears it's the correct color for the car.
Anybody ever seen this before? I thought they were all painted black with the engine? I'm re-assembling the engine I'm detailing here and would like to get beyond this question. Thank You.
I did a search and only found info on 66 K Codes......
Great photo, I was about to ask the same question. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks Fred- Any leads as to where I could get a set?
As mentioned in my C spacer post I'm not missing the C spacer as I once thought. I didn't know it was flush in there.
Also my whole issue in the begining was I was first sent a late style cam gear in a early style part numbered box. All is well now. Thank you for all the help with this.
Anything special about K-Code valve stem seals? Could I get a part number please? I did try searching and wasn't able to find a part number. TIA
That's no kidding, first set of wrong parts that's what they had me do. This last set of parts I told them they had to send call tags that I wasn't going to pay shipping again because of their mistakes.
Now it's the wait and see game if they credit my card correctly or not.....
Just to mention;
You can order Cloyes gears and chains through your local NAPA Auto Parts Store. Costs just a bit more but at least they have a clue (hopfully) as to what your ordering. My dealings with RockAuto couldn't not have been more difficult. [Blocked Image: http://www.hipomustang.com/hpmx/images/icon_mi_5.gif]
OK, never mind, got this figured out. I'm sorry to be such a PITA. I don't need the spacer, it's still on the engine.
What happened was I was sent a late style cam gear in a early cam gear box. Then they sent me a pair of gears that are much thicker and no hole for the split pin in the crank gear. I had the correct crank gear but was told I needed this other one which was not true.
Part boxed wronng + bad help on the phone @ RockAuto = PITA
Got it straight now after speaking with Wayne at Cloyes
Thank You all for all the help. I'll tell the owner of this car about the book for sale.........
Peace/Out
Does anyone have one of these C Spacers they could sell me? Or would someone be willing to sell me the later style cam thrust retainer so I can switch this over to the new style.
RockAuto doesn't seem to be able to come up with the correct cam gear, unless it was boxed wrong with a late style gear. They can't look to see if that was the case because it was sent to a different warehouse.
Ralph- Thank You so much.
I used the advanced search (yes it's true) trying to find out more about the C spacer. This engine seems to be missing this piece? Any pictures of one of those so I know what I'm looking for? I am positive this is the early style set up.
