Looks like it has a decent run spot, about 5pm on Saturday. I think the GT convertible I sold there last year ran around 3:30. There were lots of people there. I'd wager that this car will most definitely break my record of $66k.
BTW, the car is in the registry: 5F08K748826
Charles, it being an MCA car, are you familiar with it?
I don't recall the car. Would be interested in seeing the judging sheets and who judged it and when/where.
The car in this photo taken at the 40th Anniversary in Nashville, looks to be the same car, right down to the '65 Mustang front license plate.

I hope they don't consider the 40th anniversary concours award anything special. We did a 5 minute walkaround on each car, extremely abbreviated judging.
Not so sure about some of the sellers facts, "Only available with a 4-speed manual transmission and Pony interior". I guess I have a clone with a standard interior. Very nice vert I think.....Billy
Charles, these confusing/misleading claims that attach to your walk-around highlight the value of an MCA judged car......and the lengths others will go to, to add that value to a claim in a sale/auction, [if indeed this is what happened]. I would like to know, DIFINITIVELY WHAT IS BEHIND THE CLAIM. can you find out?
Well, they do say that they have judging sheets available as provenance, but they do not elaborate. For all we know, the judging sheets could be 15 years old and based on old rules. When I typed up my Russo/Steele advertisement text, I made sure to note that the car was a 2005 Concours Gold winner.
Does correct grill paint color factor in? It may just look black in photos, but I never see '65 car photos that look like the correct hazy blue color.
The seller states that he has 3(three) MCA Judging sheets. This would exclude the 40th Anniversary show in Nashville because, judging sheets weren't given out as far as I know. I do know I didn't give out any and and I was one of the judges for some early cars there. This looks like a car I judged at MCA show in Penscola, Fl. around 2005. If that is the case, it's a nice car.

The grille in the pic from the 40th looks black. They might have changed it since then, hard to tell from the auction website pics. I'm sure the car will do very well at auction.
Nice car.
At the 40th show, I was still looking for a K convertible. I circled this car several times each day hoping to locate the owner-just in case he wanted to sell. Nobody I asked wanted to sell at that time. After I bought mine, several K cars from the 40th have been for sale.
Well now you will be able to see how much he will take for it
OOOOOh.............rub it in !!!!
I bet the price will be a little higher than 2004.
A couple of friends of mine(both K owners) and I checked this car out Friday afternoon. It was very nice. The only thing we could find that was not 100% correct was the fuel pump (non-button top). In my opinion, the workmanship was top-notch.
The car should bring top dollar, but the money wasn't really flowing at Russo on Friday night. A lot of cars failed to make their reserve (maybe 5 hours of rain was to blame). One exception was a 66 GT350H, NOM, Black, Original 4spd sold for $150K. They had four or five other GT350s going on the block today as well.
Unfortunately, I did not make it out there today to watch the K-vert go across the block (about 4:00 PM). They should have the results posted on their website in a week or so.
